I was thinking about the Panthers prospect pool and didn't really come up with a prospect with big time goal scoring potential. There is a RW named Pulkkinen in the Wings prospect pool who has had his value on the rise since being drafted. He would cost a bit, but would be worth it as there aren't similar prospects in the Panthers prospect pool.

I'm sure his shot and 30 goals would be welcome in San Antonio also the following season, but I'm thinking he'd actually be up with the Panthers in the 15/16 NHL season.

Tom Rowe officially (finally) coming back as head coach. He will be joined by former Rampage assistant and head coach Scott Allen as his assistant.

@DanWeissPBP: Per @HebdoStMaurice, former #FlaPanthers draft pick F Francis Beauvillier will go to Panthers camp in September looking for an AHL contract.

Good for him. Dissapointed he didn't get a contract but at least a spot in SA will be a good start.

When the team he's coaching isn't being gutted at the trade deadline and he has a consistent roster, yes.

great, hopefully he'll have a solid roster this year, seems like most of the tallon picks starts getting old enough now

i really wish i could get AHL on stream too but its too expensive for the bad coverage

Seriously might buy an AHL coverage package this year, just because of Rocco. He's that fun to watch. Also, Weegar on the powerplay will be another nice dimension added.

I think Martindale & Megan are ahead of Hodges & Beauvillier at the moment. Both played well for SA last season and Beauvillier doesnt even have a contract yet. Both Hodges & Beauvillier (if he gets a contract) should start in the ECHL. As you admitted, you missed Brickley, Taker and McFadden who all have 2-way contracts but not sure where they fit in the lineup at this point. Training camp will help flesh out the lineup I'm sure.

ok thanks! imma try to watch more games with SA next season. it's quite exciting with grimaldi & weegar making their debuts and i'm hoping trocheck, shore, howden, petrovic etc have a (sort of) breakout season and are ready to step in and contribute for real in the big league 15/16.

Turgeon actually converted from D to LW last year.

This is my depth chart as of today:

Howden/Shore/Butler
Wilson/Trocheck/Grimaldi
Olson/Martindale/McFarland
Brickley/Megan/Crabb
Shaw

Hodges and Turgeon to Cincinnati.

Zanon/Petrovic
Racine/Weegar
Taker/Parlett
McFadden

Ellis
Houser

Brittain to Cincinnati

What are the chances that Wilson-Trocheck-Grimaldi becomes the top line during the year? That seems like it could be a heck of a line, depending on how quickly they gel.

I think the top two lines are interchangeable as far as "top line" designation. I'd think they are more of a 1a/1b.

That's fair enough. That sounds like it's a good situation for the players and the team. I don't know much about the AHL, but the Rampage seem to be a very good team. What would you say the team's ceiling is this year? Contenders for a playoff spot? Playoff team, but not quite serious contenders? Calder Cup contenders?

He is waiver eligble. So my guess is he will be No.7 on the roster or in th worst case will be traded.

He has not made that next step yet to hand him a full time NHL role

I see the big club trading pieces for future draft picks to make room for a few of these young guns. No way the franschise can operate without a solid, flexible feeeder program. Cincinnati is NOT an option for any of these players.
Also this team looks pretty dam good on paper.

Robak cleared waivers last year. Doubt his stint last year with the panthers had gms eager to claim him.

I think they'd want picks. 2nd and a 4th. I doubt Pulkkinen would be worth much more. He's more or less just an offensive playmaking winger with a huge slap shot, excellent one timer, not much of a difference maker in the lower lines as I see it. Still boom or bust though starting to lean more towards boom now that his transition to the NA game was that easy.

Pirri cost a 3rd and a 5th, no way Pulkkinen is worth more with less proven.

Don't know what Detroit's needs are, but a 1on1 swap around Shore or one of the d-man prospects could be interesting.
