Bond...James Bond

So i was walking around my place cleaning up stuff and found a People's magazine with Brosnan on it, got me thinking about who the hell the next Bond is going to be and i started to remember the candidates and what not.

I remember that Clive Owens is pretty much a done deal and that now Jason Statham is supposedly a good guy to play it because of Transporter 1 & 2. But Jason is balding and a balding Bond is not a good thing.

So then i started thinking, Clive is a goodlookin dude, would be a good bond as he is a charmer and chick's dig him and guys want to be him. But i wouldn't want to be Clive, dude kinda looks goofy eventhough he's one of my favourite actors. So then it got me thinking about my dvd collection and who out of them would be a great Bond...i came across Constantine.

Now i am a fan of Gavin's music and the guy is married to Gwen who is freakin hot, but that's not the point. If anyone remembers the movie, he was pretty dapper as Balthazar. He's from the UK, he's got the accent, he has the looks, the guy can act too, chick's would dig him as Bond and i can say i'd want to be the guy...what do you all think?

Good candidate or what?

Going through some sites, apparently i am not the only one that thinks or has mentioned him as a possible candidate for Bond...not suprised.

If I were to pick a new/modern James Bond, I'd go with Ewan McGregor. The guy's definitely talented enough to pull it off.

Sean Bean (yeah I know he was a villian already, but this series has never been a slave to continuity.)

Since Conery all the Bonds have been metrosexual, Bean would be more of a man's man. Since he's Northern he isn't too British and Sharpe was good experiance.

I can't imagine him as a player...Bond is a player. Ewan acting like a player is like having the nicest friend you have walking up with the most heart warming smile saying Hello, I am ____, may i buy you a drink?

Bond is more: "I'm James Bond, remember that, you'll be screaming it later, now how's about that drink baby.."

Bond is a pervert, Ewan can never portray a perv...Gavin on the other hand, he can be sly, i can only refer to his performance in Constantine. He was good, had me thinking the perfect Bond the whole movie.

Hugh Jackman would've been an excellent choice, but turned the role down:

Hugh is too closely tied with Wolverine/Logan. Most fans would find it weird to see him be Wolverine and Bond in the same year.

You call Timothy Dalton metrosexual ? IMO he was the "hardest" Bond so far...

I've also heard that Dougray Scott was considered as the next Bond.

Dalton was the series attempt at getting a man's man to be Bond...failed miserably.

Gavin Rossdale for Bond!

Clive Owen seems like a good choice, one name that has been mentioned who I could see playing Bond is Gerard Butler

Gavin Rossdale was good in Constatine, but you dont mix Coldplay and Bond

Worry not, neither young actor (Radcliffe is 16, Bell is 19) is in the running to take the vacated lead role in "Casino Royale," the Bond film currently undergoing a script rewrite from "Million Dollar Baby" scribe Paul Haggis. No, Contact Music reports (without naming any sources or elaborating on how advanced negotiations might be) that Radcliffe and Bell are candidates for the Young James Bond thriller "Silverfin," an adaptation of the young adult novel by Charlie Higson.

Some people suggested Daniel Craig (the lead from Layer Cake), which wasn't a bad idea. Ioan Gruffudd could do it, too.

Daniel Craig = 2000's version of Dalton = Bad.

I hope its Rossdale, but it will most likely be Clive Owens and i'm a fan of his so i wouldn't be too choked.

I just hope the new films are not a 2hr commercial and actually has a good story line....thats asking too much out of a british spy movie isn't it? My bad.

Unfortunately yes.

I liked him very much. He was my favorite Bond. The way P. Brosnan plays Bond isn't really Bond-like...I mean, shoot an action movie and call the main character James Bond...pfff.

Let's face it, there will never be another Sean Connery...he was the personification of Bond...no one else could ever come close.

I love Bond movies. Have seen every one and own quite a few of them. No one will ever be as good as Sean Connery, but I thought Pierce Brosnan did a good job, the movies just weren't that good. Too bad he doesn't want to do another one.

I've never seen Gavin Rossdale act, but I don't I want the lead singer of Bush playing James Bond.

Sean Connery starting going bald at 21, he wore a wig in every Bond film.

It doesn't matter who they pick, because all the Bond films since Goldeneye have blown chunks.

I liked Dalton; thought he did a very good job although I agree it wasn't the common opinion. I also liked Pierce Brosnan; very different Bond, but he was still excellent.

I know most people are hung up on Connery being the best Bond; but I grew up watching Roger Moore and thought he was excellent. I think Connery was excellent too; but just in a different way. Best Bond flick IMO though is a Moore film; For your Eyes Only.

Back on topic though; I think Jason Statham is a good pick; take the character in a different direction again. It's good for the series.

I would never want to see Statham in a wig, he hasn't worn one in any movie i can remember. The directors have worked around it. Of course they could let him grow it out and "glue" some hair on the bald spot to cover it up a little or just make him keep his hair that way and have a completely new breed of Bond.

Where James actually knows how to fight and the famed 'Judo-Chop' isn't the only thing he can do.

I think Lazenby got a bum rap. Top that.

That's what I'd like for the next Bond a stripped down version without all the bloat.
