They can't do a scorched earth rebuild because their fanbase/sth's would leave en masse if they're bottom table for a few years.

What on earth is Vancouver doing? Half-hearted, be mediocre, instead of full youth movement rebuild? They are the new Flames....

Great deal for the Canucks. They had money to spend and it will be nice for a young team to have some stability in goal. This takes the whole city of Vancouver off of Lack's shoulders and gives him time to grow into the #1 role there.

I'd say one would be good. Can't bury Kassian or Jensen on the bottom 6 if we plan on developing them properly.

If the Canucks struggle and Lack is our starter it was going to create a lot more bad than good.

He may have not been very good in St. Louis, but then again, we were a playoff team that simply expected much more from him. Regardless of my opinion of Miller, he's still an upgrade over Lack and Markstrom, plus it will give Demko some time to develop without him being thrown to the wolves early.

this is the worst deal of the day so far.

Miller is not an elite goalie, and hasnt been, for a while now.

And just like that Vancouver fixed their goaltending situation.

Schnieder gone
Luongo gone

Miller in who is arguably just as good as either one, if not better than both. On a nice term contract to boot.

Well done.

I don't love it, but we're certainly a better team with Miller as our #1. There's nothing else for the Canucks to spend money on so meh. I'm fine with pushing for a playoff spot and seeing what happens. Finishing last and winning the McDavid lottery isn't a reliable team-building strategy.

If we sign Iginla I'll call this day a success.

Not sure why people think Nux were rebuilding. They aren't the oilers, they actually want to make the playoffs every year. Look at all the changes they made just for missing the playoffs once unlike 7 yrs.

If they were rebuilding they would have gotten more picks instead of bonino In the Kesler trade.

Big rumors have it too that they aren't done and are looking at iginla and ott

Lack just turned 26, this will give him a couple years to develop into a starter like Schneider instead of throwing him to the wolves. I'm neutral to this signing. As long as there is a long term plan after Miller whether it's Lack or Demko, I'm fine.
