Sabres hit the cap floor, can't see them taking Bickell on board

I would call the Redwings and see if they are interested in Versteeg. I would take them him for a late pick as a Wings fan.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa and Chicago are talking deal.. Murray mentioned he has a trade in the works just waiting on other team to decide on the prospect involved from our end.

I'd like to trade Roszival. Add a pick or two if you need to but Rozy at 2.2 mil is a nice free asset considering what teams did today. He is a very capable player who would only get traded because the Hawks are up against the cap. If the Hawks can use Rozy and they are a top 3 team in the NHL...I'm pretty sure at least one team would take him

Dahlbeck is more than ready. I think this lineup gives us the best chance to win in the playoffs...22 man roster should be fine.

Someone doesn't know fair trade value or Chicago's current needs. They have Toews, Richards, Shaw, and Kruger down the middle now.

Chicago needs to get under the cap. The Islanders need to get to the floor. Chicago doesn't need NHL ready players right now. NYI has a log jam of good prospects. There has to be a fit there somewhere.

But the Hawks are in win-now mode and already have some serious prospects waiting to make an impact (Teuvo, Danault, Hartman, etc.). Sharp is a far superior player, and it doesn't save them tons of money or improve their team on the ice.

Possible lineup:

Sharp-Toews-Hossa
Saad-Richards-Kane
Bickell-Shaw-Smith
Kruger-Regin-Morin
Nordstrom

Why ruin a good thing?

Wow, some of you guys with your Versteeg/Rozsival/Bickell talk. The Hawks need 2.2 million in cap space. The obvious solution here is to trade Sharp.

They won't and he isn't going anywhere

The Hawks can keep a couple of the guys they may ship out for salary reasons this year to compete and then trade them only when they have to. Then they can also see how much the cap goes up after they have re-signed Kane and Toews. Will guys get moved? Yeah, sometime, but that time does not have to be now. Only one guy has to go.

It's likely going to be 1 of versteeg roszival or leddy

They wouldn't get rid of oduya or sharp as they view this year as a last shot with the current team

I think leddy is the best option because he will likely bring the biggest return and he will have to get traded next year anyway when his contract is up and the toews/Kane deal kicks in as well as an increase to saad

I can see leddy traded for a 1st to some team

If not maybe a G prospect. The only area Chicago has no depth

Nope! The Chicago Blackhawks will not trade a defenseman to the San Jose Sharks.

Put in an offer sheet for a RFA defenseman.

Wouldn't the Hawks need to do 2 of Versteeg, Roszival and Leddy?

I thought we kissed and made up trading you Zeus for the Cup. He was your de facto Conn Smythe, no?

What would the Hawks be looking for from the Jet's for Sharp?

Kris Versteeg, 14 months removed from ACL surgery, and Michal Rozsival, 35 year old decrepit pylon, are not completely worthless.

I am predicting it will be Rozival and Regin, I think Stan panicked and signed Regin because he thought the Richards deal was not going down.

Never said they weren't worthless. Just that it'll take more than 1 of them to be cap compliant.

The Hawks aren't moving Sharp. The only reason he was involved in rumors was because they were pursuing Kesler and needed cap space. They have their 2nd line centre now, and don't need to move a big-salaried player.

As for getting under the cap, I think the Hawks will move Leddy. Probably for a prospect and/or a couple picks.

That literally makes no sense, given the timeline provided by Richards and the clear mutual interest that existed between the Hawks and Richards going back to Sunday.
