Haven't seen much of him playing out in Phoenix over the last few seasons but puts up good numbers and has a reputation of being a highly skilled offensive winger so if that's the case then I'd like to see Toronto in the mix too. Management obviously hasn't done anything major to date and if we're basically standing pat would like to see a new element added to that second line to get Lupul and Kadri going.

idk why but I have a feeling the Habs will look to package Eller for a Dman and move Galchenyuk to 3rd Line center so don't think it's Bourque that will be gone

Pacioretty - DD - Gallagher
Sekac - Plekanec - Vrbata
Bourque - Galchenyuk - Parenteau

Sekac/Bourque will fight for 2nd line LW but I see Sekac getting the first chance to play alongside pleky who played a role in bringing him here

Would love to see him in Montreal, solid 2 way player I think he would be a great winger for Plekanec

Eklund says it's down to 3 teams- New Jersey, Montreal or Boston.

Boston will pass unless he signs a one year deal at 2 million. Similar to Brad Richards deal, which was a steal for Chicago.

I never saw Boston as a team where he could serioulsly go because of cap issues.

NJ and MTL make sense however.

NJ is just loaded with veteran Czech players, so he could be happy there.

If, however, is goal is to get a shot at the cup within 3 years, Montreal might be a better choice.

The question now is: is he willing to come in a market that cares about hockey? Moving from Glendale to Montreal would be a huge step for him... while signing with the Devils would be more or less the same.

3.5-4 M$ for 3 years or 4-4.5 for 2 years would be fine with me. After signing Eller and Subban, Bergevin should have around 6 M$ left. Considering the short term need for a top 2 RW in Montreal, it's a perfect fit.

Hopefully the Habs.

Pacioretty - DD - Gallagher
Sekac - Plekanec - Vrbata
Galchenyuk - Eller - Parenteau
Prust - Bournival - Weise
Malholtra

Emelin - Subban
Markov - Gilbert
Beaulieu - Weaver
Tinordi

That's a line up without a single hole. We're actually overloaded with forwards with Andrighetto hopefully challenging next year. I'd like another top 4 d-man, but hopefully Beaulieu grows into that role this year. End the season with this:

Beaulieu - Subban
Markov - Gilbert
Emelin - Weaver
Tinordi

Sounds like Vrby took the night to contemplate offers from Montreal, Boston and NJ....plus a potential hometown discount from the Coyotes. Vrby and his family (wife especially) love it in AZ, just had a baby, etc. We'll see.

Having watched him closely the past several years the only fit I could see would be NJ if he leaves the Valley. Strong Czech connection, but more importantly, not in the limelight. He's a streaky player and sensitive introvert....he would get gobbled up in Boston or Montreal.

NJ has a solid Czech connection, but Montreal has a better team and he could end up on a line with Sekac and Plekanec, two other Czechs.

Would love him on the team. I think NJ has way too many forwards as it is now anyway.

If we get Vrbata I think Bourque is a goner.

Malhotra didn't sign to not play. He'll be the 4th line C.

New Jersey has way too many 2nd tier forwards who bring exactly the same thing. Bringing Vrbata would not make a whole lot of sense.

You already got Coyote Kryptonite when you signed Miller, we've never beat him that I am aware of
I hope he stays a Yotes for the rest of his career, solid 2 way player

A number one center seems like a hole to me.

60-points centre is serviceable for a 1C. Not elite, but it's not a glaring weakness.

In fact, NJ already has too many forwards... and not much cap space left. I wonder if Vrbata is not only considering Phoenix and Montreal as real options now.

Elias, Zajac, Cammalleri, Clowe, Henrique, Ruutu, Ryder, Jagr, Zubrus, Brunner, Havlat, Gionta, Bernier, Josefson.... 14 forwards... and 15 with Matteau...

It a weak point. Not a hole.

A hole would be having Bournival as our 3C without any backup plan.

Which pretty much guarantees it will be none of those teams, Vrbata to Pittsburgh (E5).

It's a solid lineup no doubt about it, but having DD and Gallagher on the top line seems like a certain "weak point", or as some would say, a "hole"
