Ryan Johansen to Nashville

Looking to see what it would take from Nashville to trade for him.

At the moment it would probably cost enough to make an offer sheet seem like a better option, at least from a fan's perspective.

Way more than Nashville would be willing to give up.

Remember how annoying all the Weber trade threads are/were? It is like that for Columbus. Don't see why they would trade him at this time, even with the contract negotiations.

It wouldn't be worth it. Only option would be say a 8.2 5 year OS. And don't want to go down that route ether. Don't see it happening he will stay with the jackets.

Sheesh, Johansen isn't going anywhere...why must people insist on starting new threads to gauge the value for trading him? He'll get re-signed by Columbus before the season.

Because this is a trade forum, Johansen is a good player and it has been reported that he and his team aren't close on a deal. Why should he be immune from the same treatment players like Weber and Subban have gotten?

It's a speculative trade forum. Sorry, but what the hell do you expect?

It would be Jones & 1st or Forsberg for me.
I dont really mind all the trades appearing for RJ.
Some of the offers I would take even if the CBJ werent having problems signing him.

He's an RFA and hasn't come to terms on a new contract by July 1st. And as we've seen in the past, all players in that situation end up being traded away because it's just unfathomable to negotiate a new contract in the next 100 days before the season begins.

Sarcasm aside, I agree with you. Why people think there's a "rift" every time a team and player don't agree on a contract instantly is beyond me.

If Columbus HAD to trade him and he didnt want to be there anymore , Jones straight up. No + from either sides. Columbus wont get better value than Jones.

In any single player, maybe.
But as a package... well, don't make me go 'My Cousin Vinny' on your ass.

I dont think it would take Jones+.

Josi+ yes, but Jones is worth more then Johansen, especially a contract holdout Johansen.

I would pass then, 7 x 8 (56million) gets it done and RJ is worth the risk.
Its either a franchise player coming back or No Deal

1st line center that plays all 3 zones > Jones

Feel if they wanted him this is the way they would go. I dont know the numbers but an offer of around 8.5 for 5 years I think they only give up a 1,1,2,3 vs losing jones or josi +. given the reports that would put the Blue Jackets in a spot they do not want to be in. but agreed all a moot point as I cant see them losing Johansen

Jones pretty much.

Wonder if Forsberg + Fiala and something else would be close.

CBJ would match, but your right about pushing CBJ into a bad place. With Dubinsky, Foligno and Bob coming up for contracts in the next couple of years, and if Wennberg, Rychel or Dano have breakout years...

but does Nashville really want to cross John Davidson?

Just saying, lots of "ifs"

I don't think it would happen anyways, DP doesn't seem like that kind of gm, does not to seem to have that over aggressive side. But given the option of jones or josi + or trying the OS I think it would be smarter to send the OS. so question is do the jackets match, they do so now we can all take a nap.

Agree, Offer Sheet is the only way a team is going to get RJ. Which would cost 4x1st rounder. If a team isnt offering that; then no deal. But it would take a OS (equall to Weber's "on a young rookie center") to get him. The only way a team can get those types of players is to draft them or waaaaaay overpay them to the point of crippling their own team. RJ would take 10+ million per year for Jarmo to not match or for that matter any GM, to give up on a rarity like Johansen. Lets face it; Crosby isnt that type, Mackinnon, McDavid etc....arent on the same level of Johansen. Hell, Johansen isnt even on that level! Only Getzlaf/
Toews is and it would take a serious offer sheet to get someone like that.

Yep #1 center who just came off of a career year isn`t worth potential #1 dman who has yet to prove it (small sample size but still) come on no way.

Because a lot of teams' fanbases should know how annoying it is by now. For instance, a lot of Columbus fans encountered it when Nash was up for a new contract and then again when he was asking to be traded.
