I'm not saying you are wrong, because you could very well be right. That said, we say this EVERY year.

Same exact thing that was said when we signed Cullen, and the exact same thing that was said when we shipped Franson/Lombardi to Toronto. The other shoe never drops.

exactly, we have had a glut of centers for 2 offseasons and have done zero in moving one of them, minus nick freaking spaling.

Well, we did very well at the draft and we actually acquired a top line sniper, plus his deal isn't that bad for some veteran insurance in case Wilson busts. Certainly not the worst signing around the league with some of those terms being thrown around yesterday.

Eh...if it's the first part of a series of events that leads to a trade, I'm mostly good with it (assuming the trade isn't awful).

If it's merely a depth move with the intention of an insurance policy on Wilson/Iron Hook not panning out at C...it's a bit more eye rolling, though the enjoyment we'll get from the Joker-Face memes will be well worth the already reasonable contract.

At worst, it's a ho-hum move. Nothing to rage over. At best, it could mean we have another top-line player headed our way in the next few days. At absolute best, the last thing happens, and Olli gets us a few game-winning goals throughout the season and we all race each other to post the waffle gif.

Poile is holding a 4PM press conference. Probably will announce it then.

Why does there need to be a press conference to announce a Jokinen signing? That's literally all that's happened.

Not sure, but he's holding a press conference.

Maybe to re-enforce the idea that he got the right player for the right price.

It wasn't my first option, but I'm not upset by any means. Let's see if he can regain some form if we has a sniper on his wing (Smith or Neal). Worst case scenario we get a 2nd or 3rd for him at the deadline. I don't see the harm I'm signing a guy for a year. If this was 4 years or something I'd be pissed, but it's not.

Of course Poile will say he's our guy, what is he supposed to say? "Well we wanted like 5 other people but we ended up with him."

He's gotta get to Kroger and get groceries on Senior Discount Day fool! He's got a fight to pick with #hellsgrannies on aisle 4 and the presser just gets in the way! Olli's floating waffle will distract them to get his weekly goods!

Bummer incoming at 4PM CST...

Because in David Poile's eyes this is a big signing.

Hopefully OJ is just a Spaling replacement, if that's the case then he's an upgrade. If David Poile calls Jokinen a #1C at that press conference, I'm gonna go berserk.

My god!

Poile cleaned up at the draft and landed the best guy possible at the 11th pick, and also acquired a top three forward. Everyone loved him and now less than a week later you all hate him?

Oh no poile, you didn't sign someone on the first day of free agency and on the second you signed jokinen, now we all think you suck again!

Does the puck drop the start next season tomorrow?? Is our offseason over??

Give the man a break, maybe jokinen is to be a 2nd/3rd line centre to help young guys like jarnkrok and forsberg etc.

If poile had a presser and says he is our number one centre I will **** my pants as well and eat my words, but come on guys, you get so down on him so fast.

No harm certainly, just the annual radek bonk, yannic Perrault, Greg devries, Scott Hannan, Sergei koistysn, Matt Cullen, marcel goc signing that has become the staple of our team.

I really think Poile thinks the kids are ready (Forsberg, Jarnkrok, Wilson) to take big steps forward. I don't know if I agree, but I think that's his mindset.

Neal-Jokinen-Smith
Forsberg-Jarnkrok-Wilson/Nystrom
Cullen-Fisher-Bourque
Stalberg-Gaustad-Clune

Wilson will get worked in at center here and there - when Fisher inevitably gets hurt, if Jokinen falters, etc. The top 3 centers (and Wilson) are moveable up and down the lines

We're certainly no worse off than last year.

I'm just frustrated. Frustrated about most every facet of the state of Nashville Predators hockey.
