Forsberg and Hatcher both injured

Forsberg and Hatcher will both miss about 3 weeks and most of training camp because of injuries.

and people thought it would be our players getting injured right away....

Forsberg will miss about two weeks, and none of the season.

Hatcher was suspended for the first three games of the season anyway, so he'll miss only a few games, if any.

Sorry to rain on your parade.

missing training camp, especially this season is a big hit to a player. i think it will have a big impact on both players, especially hatcher because he didnt really play much during the lockout.

Hatcher is 33 years old and has played under Hithcock before. He'll be just fine. Forsberg won't miss all of training camp.

The new rules will have to be learned and adjusted to on the ice, and in games, not during camp.

WE still find it funny, whether it has a gran affect or not, that the Flyers' acquisitions got hurt before Toronto's oh so injury prone pick-ups.

I for one think both will indeed be fine, but I must admit it's quite amusing to see fans who knock other signings so readily defend their own when they go down.

Can't we at least enjoy the irony of the situation?

Details are sketchy...

Early reports indicate he may have dropped the soap in the post practice shower.

The report does not mention if other players, or contact was involved in the injury, or if he simply injured the knee bending over to pick it up...

Except is not funny, or even remotely ironic. Perhaps if they were to miss games during the season, then it would be somewhat ironic. And fans of every team have berated the Leafs decision making this off-season...gonna start threads about every team's injuries? Didn't think so.

Forsberg's injury is ankle bursitis. That's not serious in the least. He'll be back during training camp. Hatcher may not even miss games during the season, depending on how well he recovers.

God forbid a Leafs' player has a minor ache or pain during camp. If they do, you'll be sure to hear about it. A lot.

The parade is going on because of the injuries in general, not the length of time.

Suppose well be seeing alot of you then this year, look take it easy, you and everyone else on hfboards will have plenty of threads to diss the leafs. this thread is important cause the leaf nation has always followed the flyers team closely since we seem to meet each post season...

Lets wish them both a speedy recovery, after all it is so much more rewarding beating the Flyers with them in the line-up.

However the downside is of course Flyer fans will need to find alternate excusses for the loss..

This has always been the case, and will continue to be. If Lindros/Allison so much as get a cut, we'll be inundated. Shall be fun.

I just think that it is great that JFJ along with the entire Leafs team has been getting blasted for risky signings when Forsberg is as injury prone as any player in the league and Bobby Clark went to great lengths to bring him in at a huge cost. His salary plus losing Roenick who was a hell of a player for the Flyers.

Time will Tell but my bet is that Forsberg will end up on the short side of Games Played next to one of Lindros and Allison ... maybe even both. Remember that the Flyers aren't going to let out that it is anything beyond a minor injury/setback and we have no idea what the real issue is with Forsberg. It always starts out minor ... but I say it is the first of a few injuries we'll see from Forsberg. His style of play (much like Lindros and Nolan) causes him to be a huge risk to get hurt.

It is great to love the Leafs.

Forsberg is a wonderful player and probably a decent fellow

but

now he works for Booooby Clarke

so

I am not entirely empathetic at an injury to him or Hatcher so long as it doesn't permanently affect their ability to function well after retirement.

My understanding was this has been a long term problem for Foppa. He's had a few issues with his ankles. I remember he had alot of problems with his skates fitting because of it.
