I also think its something between Ottawa and Buffalo. GMTM almost slipped twice when speaking about moves during the Gionta PC and the subsequent interview when Ott was brought up. I suspect hes trying to move Stewart for prospects and then signing Ott

Realistically, I could see Pavs or P. Sharp as BM's targets.

Problem with Sharp to Sens

- Hawks downgrade roster bigtime unless Turris is in deal and we all know Turris is not going to be traded
- Sharp has NTC , Why waive for rebuidling team?

Murray specifically said "NHL-ready". Who describes an established player as NHL ready?

I can think of one NHL ready guy in Chicago that could be dealt his initials are TT

I doubt he'd waive as well. I...can see the argument for him waiving, but I can also see and argument for wanting to go to a team that's a contender now instead of a couple of years down the road.

Since Bowman has said he is untouchable and would't deal him for Kesler its safe to say he is going nowhere

+ He is Bowman's #2C longterm plan

Before we signed Legwand, I could see us picking up Vinny but I don't think it makes sense anymore.

My bold prediction is .....Puempel and Wiercioch for Stewart.......Bryan Murray is offering Prince and Wiercioch but Tim Murray wants Puempel instead of Prince.....then the Sabres sign Steve Ott. Its just a prediction so don't go crazy

We really don't need Stewart.

I traded for Puempel in NHL14 when I first got it and stuck him on line with Ott centering, he nabbed me 18 goals his rookie season

It could be Buffalo, both Murrays are sly about their pressers, TM in Buffalo had an incoming call in one and said he probably should have answered that

I thought it could be Sabres and Ottawa since they have been involved in rumors for a while.

It being long and drawn own would make sense since The Murray's don't want to lose to each other.

Also, as an aside, since Buffalo hired Tim Murray I don't hate Bryan Murray as much as I used to..

Anyone the least bit self conscious about their speech impediment would. "NHL ready" would be much easier for him to say than "Established player".

I've been waiting for an ottawa-buffalo trade forever. Tim Murray said he's been trying to trade with his uncle since before he acquired Stewart...who the send were heavily rumored to be after last year. It wouldn't surprise me if they had a trade...and it wouldn't surprise me if they never do. I wouldn't want to deal with someone who knows my prospects as well as anyone in the world really. You do well in deals when the other guy believes more than knows.

Henrique is the only forward on the Devils I'd want.

Good news with Scott is he's only on for a few shifts a game. The bad news with Scott is he's on for a few shifts a game.

I don't think Murray would give up Puempel for Stewart alone. At least, if he has any sense, he wouldn't. They've worked too hard to develop him in the past year to trade him off...just don't see it happening.

My gut on the deal is that it will involve 2 of Greening, Smith, Condra, and Wiercioch.

Seems to be lots of things holding up the market. Kane/Toews deals, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago trying to find someone to take their garbage. Possibly Pittsburgh as well with Scuderi. I have to believe at this point Steve Ott has a verbal agreement with a team to sign there as soon as they clear roster space (could be Buffalo). Any other year Ott would have been one of the first players signed. Tim Murray specifically said after the draft that everyone was talking trades 2 weeks prior to the draft and then on draft day everything died down.

Would have made more sense for Buffalo two weeks ago but at this point their roster is nearly set. They actually don't even have room for one of Mitchell, Kaleta or Johan Larsson (who deserves a spot). I think Stewart likely goes for a 2nd round pick and a B prospect and then Buffalo signs Steve Ott. But it also wouldn't surprise me if Cody Hodgson is the guy who is in play.
