Evander Kane

Kane still wants out of Winnipeg.

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/spo...266298211.html

Would you want him and what would you give up for him?

That might be the germ of a deal.

I expect VCR might have to add a pick.

Yeah Shinkaruk is going to be a gem, but if Evander Kane is available for Lack + Shinkaruk....

Kane is only 22 and has a 30 goal season to his credit. That might be the ceiling for Shinkaruk in 3-4 years.

Hansen, Jensen, Lack +2nd ))) They get the Danish express.. Ehlers +the HJeansen's they get an upgrade in goal they so desperately need. And a 2nd round pick in 2015..

Biggest problem is, many other teams can give way better offers for Kane than we can, so I figure it's moot point.

I would do that deal and I think the Jets would too.

But Hansen would have to agree to waive his NTC.

Heck yes. I don't know what we even have to trade though.
Probably a goalie and Hansen to start. One of our prospects and a pick probably.

The Canucks IMO had a better chance of getting him with Gillis as GM, Kane's a great value player per advanced stats. Benning doesn't like problem children players by all accounts.

He lives there in the off season with his wife and there is also the Dane connection with Ehlers. Almost seems like manifest destiny.

If he's a locker room problem or disliked by teammates then stay away. If not, then I don't care. Just win baby.

You really think that they won't get offered better?

So its settled then? Jensen+Hansen+Lack +2015 2nd.. I'll call Jim and let him know

I also think the Kane problem things are greatly exaggerated.. I have nothing to back up that claim I just want to think he's a good guy.. I remember his interview after the Canucks FLames game where they had the line brawl and he said something to the affect that "it looked like a lot of fun and he'd love to be there..."

No thanks, not worth the cost. He might score in spurts if he's not too busy at the roxy or mistaking stacks of cash for his cellphone

Mark Messier was an immature jerk early in his career too.

Buy low is what good GM's do.

See Jim Nill for reference.

Yup. These are the only opportunities/situations you get to acquire young star players, sadly I don't expect the current management group to be interested.

That's a pretty good deal both ways. Jets get a lot of good pieces for losing one very good piece.

Possibly, but if he is in fact on the market I think, as others have stated, that someone else puts together a better package.

I've said this before and I'll say it again.
This is from a primary source.

He is not a respected member of the Winnipeg hockey club in the dressing room. He is very much a kid playing professionally.
Yes, some players take a while to mature, but he takes it too far.
His teammates would be thankful if he were traded.

His on-ice game needs work as well, but at least this can be amended. Personality issues can take a lot longer than on-ice issues to address.

I hope the Canucks have absolutely nothing to do with Kane moving forward.
