What is this based on?

Jason Demers just got 3.4 mill from SJ. I think that's about where Kuli should fall, but something tells me he'll be getting 4+

Demers is ridiculously underrated though, Kuli wishes he was on the same level of play as he is.

Yeah that's a great deal for Demers.

This has probably been answered a million times, but how many more years until Kulikov becomes UFA?

This is a tough call for Tallon though either way. The guy really hasn't earned a long term deal, but you also have to be somewhat concerned about going short term, having him breakout, then leave as a UFA...

The rule is 7 years of NHL experience, or the year the player reaches age 27, whichever comes first. Kuli will reach the 7 years first at age 25 (he'll turn 26 later that year) in 2016, so he has two RFA years left before he's eligible for UFA.

Basically if he only re-signs for one year, next offseason will be the last time he's a RFA.

If the Panthers were looking to move Kulikov, what would they be looking for in return? Another D? Roster player? Picks? Calgary's looking for a Dman, and has the cap space to overpay him (slightly).

A top 6 winger, or another D. But a stay home Dman.

Are we talking current, or futures? For example, are you thinking a Hudler or a Baertchi?

players in a similiar position as he is, a young player who have proven to be a top6/top4 but struggles with inconsitency and might need a change of scenery

and defensive d-man is no-go, a winger or another two-way d in same situation
