My NHL15 player ratings

What do you do on Wednesday when you're sick in bed all days? Predict overalls for every team in the NHL

Discuss, rant, debate, do whatever, let me know what you guys think. Just don't point out the line-combos, I just randomly threw em together. Didn't feel like ranking more then 20 players per roster (12F, 6D, 2G)

I'll probably get lots of hate, keep in mind, I'm no expert on every team in the league, an honest effort was put into this.

Anaheim

Good job, as far as LA goes I would probably alter the defense just a bit... Doughty 92, Regher 82-83, Muzzin 82, Voynov 84.. also they need to fix Jarrett Stolls faceoff rating, 85???

That must have taken a while, it was pretty good though, only maybe one or two players I disagreed with

Pretty good ratings overall, but a couple things about Ottawa:

- Greening had a bad year so I think they will lower him a bit from 81.
- Cowen and Phillips are way too high, I would put Phillips at 81/80, and Cowen I would give 82 at the highest, personally I would give him a 79 based on his form from last season. He still has potential to improve though.
- Stone will play above Condra in the lineup most likely

Thanks for the feedback.

I just have Phillips and Cowen a bit high due to their physical attributes, which bumps the overall a bit higher then softer defensemen.

Good overall. I'll just comment on the ones I believe will be significantly different:

- Soderberg: drop him by 2 or 3 points. While I don't think 84 is a bad rating for him, his success is too new, and I expect a lower rating. Same for Smith to some degree, although, I think your rating for him is ok.
- Caron: big miss IMO. He'll be mid-70s.
- Kelly and Campbell: drop them by 2-3 points each.
- Krug: too many attributes that will drop him. I expect him around 80.
- McQuaid: should be a significant drop for him. Kevan Miller will come in high 70s
- Svedberg will be the back-up and will probably be around 77

First of all on everything with the amount of work this was.

I think Reinhart won't be a 78, he'll be lower, as he is unproven.

On the isles D in general, Hamonic will be about an 83, de Hann an 80, and the rest of the D lower than what you said.

Lastly, we signed Johnson to be a backup, and I think will be between a 78-83. Poulin will be in the AHL, and will be around a 74 overall.

Other than that, great job.

Just as a Flames fan, this would be my counter:

Calgary
Glencross (83) - Backlund(83) - Hudler (85)
Raymond (82) - Monahan(83) - Colborne (80)
Gaudreau (77) - Stajan (80) - Jones (79)
Baertschi (78) - Bouma (76) - McGrattan (74)
Byron (75) M. Reinhart (76)

Giordano (88) - Brodie (86)
Russell (82) - Wideman (83)
Smid (80) - Engelland (78)
Cundari (75)

Hiller (85)
Ramo (83)

Bolded are the ones that I changed, pretty minor +/- 1 on the forwards, but significant changes on our top defensive pairing and Smid as well. I added 13th/14th players and a 7th defenseman to complete the 23 man roster. Overall, your ratings were fair. Imo, the Flames' defense should be ranked a little higher on a few, and the forwards were given a bit too good of a ranking.

While I agree that's what it should be, EA will likely have Gio at 86/87 and Brodie at 84/85. Also ramo will probably be lower even though he shouldn't. Ea is just relatively clueless when it comes to ratings

Hendricks (80) - Arcobello (78) - Gazdic (77)

Petry (84) - Fayne (83)
Nikitin (83) - Schultz (83)
Ference (83) - Marincin (79)

Fasth (83)
Scrivens (82)

Decent ratings but some notes:

- RNH little bit too high, should be around 84 considering Perron is better than him as of now
- Purcell way too high, he should be low 80s, probably 80
- Ference too high, Marincin too low, both should be 81s IMO
- Scrivens is better than Fasth, just change their overalls and it's good

Agree mostly with the Blues.

Think Leopold and Allen are a little high and Schwartz could be a point or two higher.

Solid ratings though.

I agree for the most part, but I might bump down a point on each of Palmieri (inconsistency), Beauchemin (so-so year in many people's eyes, and coming off injury/surgery), and Gibson (played so few games). Mainly just Gibson though. Other than that, pretty solid. Nice job!

McGinn is a little high, so is Briere i would think. The thing that caught my eye was 90 for Varlamov....A little high...yes i know how important he is to the time but one good year doesn't equal 90

Varlamov will be 85.. It seems to be EA's default "Recent goalie success" rating

I can see Duchene hitting 89, but not Landy, he'll need one 75+ point season I think to be in that category.

Thanks for your input! (and everyone else)

the reason why landy I think can be an 89 is because he is complete while Duchene is offence mainly. landy can skate, hit, good puck control, good passing and shooting, good defence and awareness. obviously I'm biased but it could happen.

Franzen (85) - Datsyuk (92) - Abdelkader (81)
Tatar (83) - Zetterberg (89) - Nyquist (84)
Miller (80) - Weiss (82) - Jurco (78)
Helm (83) - Sheahan (80) - Mantha (75)

Kronwall (88) - Ericsson (83)
DeKeyser (83) - Quincey (83)
Smith (82) - Kindl (81)

Howard (86)
Gustavsson (82)

Not bad. A few thoughts. Franzen a bit lower. Maybe switch the 85 to Nyquist and give Franzen an 84. Ericsson/Dekeyser a tad bit higher but Quincey, Kindl, and Smith lower.
