Lupul has the same cap hit and production as Kane (slightly better production actually) but is older. The upside is that the Jets would get an upgrade in goaltending and would be a local favourite. Reimer will sell a lot of jerseys.

I think the Leafs would like Kane because it could be a good match for Kadri. Same draft year, both are kinda cocky, I could see them working well together.

I hate doing proposals, but this is something that I actually see as a fit for both clubs.
Hope you like Pavlec because that is the only way any deal from Winnipeg will EVER involve Reimer

Kane wants out so jets are not going to get equal value IMO.

I would be interested in a kane and Bog's for Myers, Hodgson, B prospect and either the two 2nd rounders or the st. louis 1st rounder in 15 type deal.

Cost of Kane

What is the price for Evander Kane, a 25g+ powerforward?
What pieces do you need?

If the Jets trade him, they'll get the best offer from teams competing for him. What another team offers doesn't depend on whether Kane wants out, it depends on beating another team's offer.

They discussed Myers and Hodgson to some extent, and threw around some ideas, but the underlying theme was Kane, when he does get moved, they weren't saying if, but when, will be a very good trade for Winnipeg.
I agree that buffalo would make a great trade partner. Something like Hodgson, STL 1st, Armia and Jake McCabe?

I wouldn't do that if I were the Canes.

With enstrom and morrissey on the left side I don't think another small puck moving D will help the jets in any way.

I still think Buffalo is a very good trading partner

ROR is still better than anything that wasn't a 4 piece offer in this thread.

I agree. Which would you rather have? ROR? Or Hodgson, (played well on LW in The wc) STL 1st, Armia and McCabe?

One is a solid and logical trade for trade

and the other fits needs and a replacement...

??

you are absolutely dreaming if you think that E. Kane will get you that. Two of those players are top ten draft picks in two of the deepest drafts in the last ten years. Murphy is feasible everything else is wayyy to much of an overpayment.

I don't believe Armia has to be added. And I'm not particularly high on the kid, just that Hodgson, St. Louis 15 1st and McCabe is good value for Kane.

Depends on what the Jets GM wants to do as well. Does he want a young d man like McCabe, or is he looking for a young, NHL experienced defenseman? I'm not familiar enough with the Jets to know what their key needs are at the moment.

Atleast a replacement for Kane, if we lose Kane, next in line is buff or Frolik, which is a question mark. The jets are looking for a top 4 LHD and McCabe is a defensive LHD with NHL size pushing for the nhl. He gives more promise to a top 4 LHD than Clitsome does, and the jets are still rebuilding so another 1st round pick would help.

Armia would would help our RW depth

Lol. Ok, let me get this straight...

The Jets get a player with a great attitude who puts up the same (or better) numbers than Kane PLUS one of the top defense prospects in hockey. In turn, the Islanders get a similar player to the one they're trading, although a tad higher upside, but a player who has a bad attitude and is injured every year.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense at all from the Isles standpoint. Replace Pulock with a pick or "good" prospect and it's more doable.

Gees, Jets fans must really think a kid who hasn't broken 30 goals is all of a sudden Cam Neely or Brett Hull.

Again, this is cartoonish.

The Jets trade a 30 goal, disgruntled and oft-injured employee for a solid, young, versatile forward (Hodgson), a top goal scoring prospect with 30 goal potential himself (Armia), a future 2nd pairing defenseman who is basically Jacob Trouba lite (McCabe) AND a 1st round pick??

Yeah, I'm sure the Sabres are just lining up to make this type of trade.

I'd send Jared Cowen, Alex Chiasson, and the higher of our 2015 2nd round picks.

What about Edler, Jensen, and a 2nd rounder in 2015? That's a top 4 LHD, a top 6 winger with upside and a high second rounder in a very deep draft.
