Maybe a small plus from Detroit?

Works for me. Franson can play bottom three minutes and run the second PP unit. Leaf fans please let me know if that is Franson is capable of? Thanks.

If you're expecting a bottom pair guy with some PP value then Franson is a good option... he gets a lot of hate and played soft this season which made him worse.

I would do this as a leaf fan

Always thought Franson would become more than what he is.

Trade actually seems alright.

Kindl is pretty much the same player, but he's atrocious offensively too!

Done. No need for a plus. Just take Franson.

Franson for Kindl, Lashoff, Cleary and a Hot and Ready to add some positive value to Tor

I don't watch enough leafs to know, but how did he lead the league in hits if he plays soft?

Don't read stats. Leafs fans don't like it when you read stats.

This makes too much sense for Holland to do it in real life

umm no thanks. At least Franson is actually killer on the PP and can pile on hits. With babcock i'm sure he can sort out his defensive mistakes.

how about Kindl + Oulett/Feraro/2nd

Hes saying Leafs fans dont like stats because it goes against their narrative. The Franson is soft comments are some of the dumbest out there. He was up there in the NHL in hits last season. Off the top of my head I believe that he was actually 2nd behind Martin. I guess if you dont fight youre soft.

Anyway as for the OP no thanks... Franson is a good 3rd pairing guy and I wouldnt really say the same for Kindl. If we did have to trade Franson then i'd rather just take a pick rather than a useless player

I'm intrigued by Kindl for sure.

What's the scouting report on him?

I'm also very interested in what the cost of Riley Sheahan would be. I know he was a 1st round pick, but what is the potential with that guy?

Well Franson is better fit for Detroit than Kindl is for Leafs so if Wings add 4th rounder it will be fair value

I think he would be good if we traded Phaneuf/Gardiner. I just don't see how he fits in right now unless we do that though. I mean unless we want two LHD on a line. The value is there but like many fans I'm looking for a 2nd and potentially a prospect most likely, which I'm pretty sure Detroit traded away. Maybe if we trade Phaneuf/Gardiner it would work. With that being said, I like the value and I think it's a good trade for both teams.

I don't see any upside to Toronto making this move. If both players turn out, Detroit gets the much better Dman.

Franson for Smith, two similar age dmen who are a better fit for their new club.
