Do you need someone to call you at work with some sort of emergency?

Upon reading this thread it sounds like Hartnell is doing pretty well.. Is there any hope of this guy landing a spot in the top-six to add some size and grit, or is there just not enough room?

Judging just strictly on camp, Hartnell is top 6. If I had to pick someone that has dropped since last season it would go to Walker, IMHO right now he's a third liner on this team.

Right now.
Kariya-Legwand-Erat
Hartnell-Robo-Sullivan
Hall-Johnson-Walker

again, IMHO

I agree trigg I was thinking that when I was there on Thursday. The above lines are the best that I have seen written out especially after seeing the scrimmages.

Could Walker end up traded to make room for someone????

darn good question. I'd say at the very least he plays here this season and then is let go to make room for radulov.

Why not? Trading a position of strength to address a weakness.

my guess is that if neither beech nor robo pan out, then this could be a possibility sometime during the season.

Can Radulov play on a line with Kariya, Sullivan, or Hartnell and score 20+ goals this season? If so, could he score 30+ next year on that line with a season in the NHL?

If so, make the move now and let him flourish on the NHL level. Trade Walker (which pains me to say), plus whatever else to someone for a top center.

I believe it's fair to say that Radulov and Weber are making it really hard on Trotz and his staff- which is very exciting.

Is there any way that Nashville could pry Chris Drury from Buffalo for Scott Walker +?

Would anyone make that deal (and what would you add to Walker to make it happen)?

then the only top 6 grit we'd have is Hartnell

Kariya is still out. Hamhuis, Hartnell, Legwand and Erat all looked good, epecially Legwand and Hamhuis.

since pred303 seems to like the np.com board better and posted his report there , here is what he said.

Quote:
a good scrimmage today...

no kariya, nichol, or zidlicky, all still out

goal scoring went like this;
1)Radulov from Allison and Legwand
2)(pp)Hartnell from Robitaille and Gamache
3)(4 on 4)Legwand from Stevenson and Hamhuis
4)(pp)Hamhuis from Markov and Legwand
5)(pp)Gamache from Robitaille
6)(6 on 4 pp)Gamache from Zanon and Robitaille
7)(pp)Stevenson from Legwand and Hamhuis

as you can probably tell from the scoring, Legwand,Robitaille,Gamache,Hamhuis,Stevenson, Radulov all had strong scrimmages. Game was tight and a defensive struggle 5 on 5, with Radulov scoring the only goal on a beautiful little breakaway..beat Mason for that one

the second period was all special teams work, and as you would expect the ice was really opened up,as was the scoring. In the center battle, not much out of Beech today, Perreault won every single faceoff and had a goal wiped off because of a quick whistle, and Robitaille excelled once they went to the pp work after so-so even strength work.

This team has so many good defensivemen.. and they kind of won the even strength scrimmage honestly... markov, timonen, hamhuis, weber, and suter seemed especially to all have good games

vokoun played well,as did mason and finley, rinne trailed the three of them today i thought

good practice day all around, now if we can just get those three guys back on ice that have missed time.

He told me that HF is blocked where he works and can only get on NP during the day. I'm sure he'll shovel some crap on here later.

I'm not all that worried about Kariya, they're probably just being careful.

Legwand and Erat really seemed to click togther, maybe add Kariya to the line to push the skating ability of the other team. These guys can fly.

Hamhuis did some great things with the puck today too, seems like he worked really well the the pp unit that had Erat and Legwand on it.

you can't go with all young guys. a Veteran presence would be nice. Perhaps you're thinking we'd get another veteran in return? I doubt it. Walker isn't worth enough to another team on his own to get the kind of center I'd want to replace him.

I would think a 67 point tough winger would bring back a pretty good return. And yes the center would have to have size and grit.

Besides we have veterans they're just young, Legwand and Hartnell are both veterans now or should be considered. They've played in 4+ seasons.
