Most nominations for one award by a player?

Just curious to know which player in history has the most nominations for a single award? Lidstrom won 7 Norris trophies and was nominated 3 other times IIRC. 10 nominations is pretty damned good.

Anyone know of any others? What are the most nominations for each trophy? I'm assuming Gretz has the most Hart noms.

I'm assuming by "nominated" you mean finishing in the top-3 for voting for that particular award. Looking at Ray Bourque's hockey reference page, he won the Norris 5 times and was in the top-3 9 times.

Bourque has 15 nominations? Wow. That's insane. I'm also surprised that Lemieux has so little Hart nominations (relatively speaking) compared to Hull.

Lemieux just didn't have as many full seasons as a lot of other players

Nothing is as amazing about Mr. Hockey as the fact that he was top-5 in scoring for twenty years straight, or (as we now see) he was top-5 in Hart Trophy voting 15 times.

Like, wow.

Figured it would be full of Howe, Gretzky and Bourque in this.

I forgot about Brodeur, but he is also an obvious choice.

Yes. Tied with Jagr. Although Brodeur never finished higher than 3rd in Hart voting. Still, an amazing consistency. Next goalie is Hasek with 5. But Hasek never finished BELOW 3rd in those 5 years.
