Minor note on Steen + Sundin

http://www.torontosun.com/Sports/Hoc...14859-sun.html

Quote:
Leafs captain Sundin has taken young countryman Alex Steen under his wing. The two will be camp roommates.
I like this.

Steen could be an amazing RW or LW for Sundin in the very near future.

there a perfect fit..
hopefully steen can play on the top 2 lines.. always thought if you put him with other offensive players he can be a major threat or if you put him with more defensive or poo players hes more defensive

Cap'n Sundin is once again the perfect role model.

Class, class, class.

Tucker - Sundin - Czerkawski
Steen - Allison - O'Neill
Stajan - Lindros - Antropov

or

Steen - Sundin - O'Neill
Stajan - Allison - Czerkawski
Tucker - Lindros - Antropov

Not bad, not bad!

I'd like to have Poni in there somewhere too. But it's not possible if we want Stajan winging on either of the top 3 lines. If anything, he'd C the 4th line and Poni would wing it with Allison.

I know, Stajan doesn't belong on the 4th line.

after having seen alot of Steen the past few days, I definately think he wouldn't look out of place playing with a guy like Sundin, although I don't think it's ideal, I think it would serve him better getting some time in the AHL, but if he's going to play in the NHL, there aren't many centers out there he could learn from better than Sundin

If Steen earns a spot in camp (and I really only want him on the team if he earns a top 9 spot) then having Poni as a 4th liner is really good insurance on the wings!

When including Steen in the roster after Czerkawski came in, our top 9 doesn't have any bare spots anymore.

It's funny, we always talk about Leaf fans doing this...but from some of the noises Leaf management has been making, it's like they've already got Steen pencilled in to the lineup.

As usual there will be injuries this year, I'm just glad to hear we finally have a little bit of depth to fill the holes.

My buddies (swedish twins john & fred wikner) who also play and got drafted last year (ottawa & calgary) know Alexander Steen.

They told me: that last year, when Steen played for MODO in Örnsköldsvik, almost didn't give a beep about hockey and started eating a lot of junkfood and playing cs (counter-strike =) ..... he gained 5kgs of fat and really lost his motivation and skipped practices quite often etc.

So it's good to see him back on track again, especially with King Mats! =)

That's what CS does to people. Highly addictive game. I should know =).

People still play that game, has been around since 97. Next to World of Warcraft, I think it's the biggest online game right now, despite being that old!!

So, Steen getting hooked, not a surprise, he's only human .

It's good to have the rookies with the veterans. It only helps having a rookie learn from a veteran if the veteran is willing to do that type of thing.

That's only 11 pounds. Probably quite a number of NHLers put on more than that during the offseason.

Who's the photographer? It would be nice to see Jarome "in action" .. him AND Gauthier of course!!!

Made me wanna play that game again.. even if I've quit on PC-gameing and focusing only on Xbox nowadays =). I remember Age of Empires 1 .. that rocked!!
