Ilya Bryzgalov

I don't get why he hasn't been signed yet. He's a solid backup/starter and there are plenty of teams that need someone like him.

The goalie market right now is really over saturated

I honestly can't think of a single team that needs a goaltender. Pretty much set for the season.

I dunno about that. The goalie market is like a game of musical chairs and the music has stopped for now. You could make a compelling argument that Bryzgalov is better than a handful of backups that have contracts, but teams typically don't want to send a one-way contract down to the minors. Right now, it might be a similar scenario to last year where Bryzgalov has to wait until somebody's starter gets hurt or a backup is just awful.

Pretty much every spot is spoken for right now. Winnipeg is about the only spot I'm not sure about. Hutchinson has a two way deal this year and a one way deal next year. And then there are a few teams with #3 goalies who have one way deals that might get dealt.

By far the worst goaltending in the NHL. Winnipeg just want another high pick by the look of it.

Obviously they are kind of tanking. Goalie market is to flooded and most teams would rather get Marty.

I think last season might've been Bryz's last in the NHL. He was pretty good for the Wild but that was a small sample size considering how his past few years have been. Not to mention how discipline the Wild are, they can make any goalie look at least decent.

IMO he's done as a starter. And how many teams want a 34 yr old backup these days.

What? We signed Lindback and Rynas already. Maybe at a million bucks he'd be a better option than Lindback but we are set with 4 goaltenders for next season.

Not many teams are going to want to pay 1.5 million for the AHL tandem.

Im hoping hes attending Wild camp... I am very suspect of our goalies health situation... Backs feels much better this year as well as Harding, but for how long?

I would have thought phoenix would have had bryz back as a backup to mike smith, he is much better than the Giraffe.

If I recall correctly, Bryz wasn't the most popular guy in the locker room and they weren't all that upset when he signed elsewhere. In a vacuum, I'd much rather have Bryzgalov than Dubnyk but certain guys will have a better mindset to be the backup.

I rather have Bryz then Clemmer but whatever. Lou's gonna stick with his retreads and everyone is expecting Kinkaid to be the backup of the future.

I just rather have Universe as our "insurance policy" over Scott ****ing Clemmensen

Actually, in all honesty I rather have Marty but he doesn't want to be a backup. He wants to start. Bryz doesn't mind being a backup.

I don't disagree.

There's a few backups that I'd consider worse than Bryzgalov at this point, but most teams are set for the time being and probably aren't looking to add another goalie at the moment.

Circumstances will change depending on who gets hurt and/or is ineffective.

How Lindback gets a job before Bryz is amazing.

Not really at all. They're pretty equal to me at this point except Lindback is 26 and Bryz 34. There's also a chance Lindback can still improve. I know he gets a lot of hate at the moment but im not ready to give up on him after poor last season.

Its not just last season. He's never really been all that good. But to defend your post, Bryz probably doesn't want to be slated behin Lehtonen. Not a whole lot of playing time

This is exactly it, the difference is the time in Tampa probably humbled Lindback into realizing he isn't a starter and should just settle back into his original position as back up. At 925K like you say, that's probably a lot easier for Dallas ownership to swallow say if Campbell outplays him in camp, then something line 1.5 or so Bryz is after.
His best bet to grab a PTO and hope for some decent exhibition games to maybe get a look somewhere.
