Agreed. I tried a sub a couple of years ago and ended up not even reading the last 4-5 issues. Horrible.

I think he'll get an invite and sign to a 1 year / 1 mill deal.

Detroit
Tampa Bay
Ottawa
Colorado
Buffalo
Calgary
Edmonton

As possible destinations.

I'd argue that Quincey is better than MDZ---remember that Del Zotto was a healthy scratch 11 times last year, and his deficiencies forced John Moore to play his off-side until he was traded.

I remember Del Zotto playing the right side far more often than John Moore when they were paired together.

Got to think Colorado is going to end up with him. Anything to improve their defense.

Barrie, EJ, Noreau, Redmond, Hejda, Stuart, Geunin, Wilson, Elliott, Holden

He'd be competing with 10 other defensemen, all who are waiver eligible. Roy likes to carry 8 defenders so if Del Zotto was brought on board then there'd be 11 defenders fighting for 8 spots. Del Zotto isn't coming to Colorado.

Many of those are not waiver eligible. Hejda, EJ and Stuart aren't. Probably more.

EDIT: I may have misread.

I think you misread. Pretty sure he meant that all would have to go through waivers if sent down.

Babcock should really be lobbying the Wings to sign him to a 1-year contract. That way if Babcock decides to move to a different team next year, he might be able to convince MDZ to come with him if he had a decent season.

Flyers should be very interested with the Timonen news, you would think.

In Kimmo they lose a good ES defender. That in not MDZ. But we certainly need a PMD so who knows.

I just don't see Detroit being Interested in MDZ right now. He's a reclamation project.

Unless MDZ is suddenly a good ES defender and good on the PK, then no, he's not close to a Timonen replacement.

Beggars can't be choosers at this point, if they can get MDZ on a prove-it contract it's worth a shot.

I agree, it is worth a shot at a 1yr deal...MDZ is only 24yrs old and could turn his game around.

This guy couldnt improve a beer league defense, much less any NHL defense (not even the 74-75 Caps defense).

Was asked about Del Zotto today on @TSN1050Radio. Hearing there's lots of interest and he may sign with a team tonight or tomorrow.
