AM: Timmy & Grebs ready to play on regular basis

From today's LA Times
"I think Tim Gleason and Grebeshkov are ready to play on a regular basis," Coach Andy Murray said. "We decided that they and other young guys could play well."

Grebeshkov NHL ready? I really hope Andy knows what he's doing...

At this point I would take Grebeshkov over Corvo.......But maybe that's just me.

"I think two seasons in Manchester, it was enough," said the 22-year-old Grebeshkov

I was certainly enough for many of us here as well Grebs...Good luck...

Can Corvo be sent to Manchester should Grebs make the opening night roster? If he can't what do we do? Trade him?

Give him a nice comfy seat in the press box.

That's a waste. You can't have Corvo taking our enforcers spot in the press box like that....

I don't think Corvo endeared himself to the brass by playing in Chicago instead of Manchester during the lockout, regardless of how close it was to his home.....

No surprise about Gleason but I'm surprised about Grebs but not shocked because of all the talk of his season at Manchester. Although, I think Petiot will give him a good run for the 6th spot. I think Grebs is going to learn a lot from Lubo because they have the same game and even Dempsey but Petiot is also going to learn a lot from Matty and Miller. I'm confident in these guys.

If Corvo is played even with all of defensive issues, then Grebeshkov becomes a full time King this year.

You can only spend so much time in the AHL before its time to see if you got what it takes

You wouldn't if you saw him play last season. Grebs is still a work in progress where Corvo can at least presently hold his own.

True as that may be, unless his game has turned around tremendously, he'll only be good for a call-up once or twice this season. It'll be interesting to see what he is able to do against the big boys, but my money would be on him only spending short stints in LA, and that by the time of the second call-up you guys are likely going to be cringing when you hear about it.

I suspect that Grebeshkov will get an "extra" look in camp and pre-season games. Also, I wonder if Grebs will be subject to waivers if he is sent to Manchester. Given the $75k rule it's certainly possible. However I still haven't been able to find out if entry level contracts are exempt??? If they're not exempt, and Grebs is making over $75-k on the AHL side, he's probably going to be staying in L.A. They can get him to Manchester no problem but then he's there for the entire season ...He won't make it through waivers to get up to the NHL...

Now that was funny

I can all we can hope in LA was either......

-AM was trying to publicly motivate Grebs, similiar to how he called out Glen Murray.

-DT taught AM the jedi mind trick

-Grebs felt overqualified last year and was "saving it" for the NHL

-AM was misquoted

-That while in LA during the offseason , Grebs trained extensively with Mark Hardy and corrected all past problems

-Grebs started doing Tai-Chi and is now more focused than any human on the planet.

-Grebs is pissed that he slipped from the number one rank on the HF Kings prospect list and is out for blood

I am going to watch him closely tonight to see how much he has grown in the offseason

I'll certainly be interested to hear your observations as well. Lehoux seemed to have turned a corner following two lackluster seasons. I suppose Grebs could have, too.
