Our summer hockey series is called Best of the Rest. We look at the best player in each franchise's history who is Not in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and retired for at least three years making them Hall eligible.
I don't think a lot of people league-wide would realize it, but outside of Anaheim, Kariya's most productive years were easily in Nashville and he only left because of the firesale. You'd be hard-pressed to find a player with more productive seasons for us than Kariya. It's a shame we had to let him go.
Not a fan of the qualifier "So it didn’t really matter who I picked, as no one would be truly Hall of Fame worthy"
While I don't disagree, what's the point at all if you could just pick anyone and write a blog post about them? It actually just comes across as a bit insulting to the organization, in my opinion. Plus, as has been mentioned, some players were ignored.
Diamonds shinin', look like I robbed Liberace.
