Construct a divisional roster

Build a 20 man team + three healthy scratches out of players from your favorite team's division.

Discard the cap as that just results in a collection of ELC's and players with bad agents.

This is a team built for playing other divisional teams on NHL ice if that matters.

My attempt at central:

Sharp Toews Hossa
Benn Seguin Kane
Parise Duchene Backes
Landeskog Spezza Mackinnon

+Stastny, Vanek

Suter Weber
Keith Seabrook
Bouwmeester Piterangelo

+Johnson

Rinne - Home
Varlamov - Away

Three absurdly good defensive pairings. Would have included a Shattenkirk type but I didn't want anyone who could be a liability. MacKinnon might not deserve a roster spot opening night but he has insane upside and showed a growing ability to take over games towards the end of the season.

I'd guess Central would be the top team but I don't know how the others would rank.

Chara - Karlsson

Underwhelming. Didn't see how I could fit any of Florida or Buffalo on this roster.

To anyone that tells me the Blue Jackets are overrated, I submit to you, these posts.

Joey made the healthy scratch on the first one, second guy didn't even deem him a top 13 forward in our division.

Trying to put some thought into how the lines would work rahter than just filling out an all-star team:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Stamkos
Lucic-Krejci-Ryan
Marchand-Bergeron-Gallagher
JVR-Turris-Kessel
Plekanec

Chara-Subban
Hedman-Karlsson
Kronwall-Campbell
Phaneuf

Rask
Price
Luongo

Yea it's so outrageous that the division with the best forwards would have Johansen on the cusp of making the team.

I see 3 each from the Flyers and Islanders, and not a single CBJ forward

Voracek, Okposo, Grabner, Simmonds?

If you were offered Johansen for Voracek straight up, you'd turn that down?

I like #93 alot, was one of my favorites here, but I doubt he'll ever put up 30 goals in a season. He's a second line wing playing up in the absence of anything better.

Voracek, Okposo and Simmonds are close to Johansen. Grabner isn't even close.

You think he deserves a center spot over Crosby, Giroux, Malkin and Backstrom?

Yes, because he's already close to being an elite puck possession winger due to his excellent skating, passing and puckhandling. And he's only 24. He may not score 30 goals because his shot is not very accurate but he'll be around 60-70 points consistently. He is absolutely a first line winger.

http://www.broadstreethockey.com/201...-review-flyers

His Corsi relative to his teammates was even more impressive, as his +7.4% ranked him 11th in the entire league -- better than Sidney Crosby (17th), Joe Thornton (18th) and Jonathan Toews (33rd).

Metro forwards are stacked. Not so much on D though, outside of McDonagh. Hopefully that changes soon.
