It really was. I was getting so excited everytime Hauser made a save, and when Cammalleri scored I jumped out of my chair. My roommate looked at me a little weird.

I still really want to see Hauser or Fukufuji being backup.... They should either be playing in the NHL or starting in AHL and only one of them can do that - Lababera apparently did really good today but overal every other time or thing i have heard hasn't been positive

If Hauser proves that this is the kind of game he can play night in and night out I would not see why he couldn't steal the back-up spot from Labarbera.

From the box score it looks like Murray delivered a pre-emptive strike on the goony boy front.

I merely listened on the radio, but I could swear that, over Nick Nickson (who wouldn't stop talking), I heard Frolov's name announced after Roenick's, suggesting that Frolov was #1 and Roenick was #2 Hardly matters, though...

Edit: Ah, thx, scolgoar, since I could also swear that the 3rd star was a Duck from the booing. I suppose you meant those were your personal picks for the stars, then, spongie.

Manchester fans, Hauser really impressed me tonight. Hell, both him and Garon did. Garon is so fast! Hauser plays all the right angles. Overall it was a great game. Sandman shoudl earn himself a contract with that destruction of Marshall. Flinn and Parros have improved greatly since the last time I saw them, but should both be in Manchester. Great f'ing hockey game, best one in a long long time.

I hope Corvo keeps a spot on the team. He looks like he still has loads of potential. I really like the way he plays.

y'know, watching the shootout (I sit in section 116 right behind the net where the Kings attack twice), I got the feeling that the guys (frolov, demitra and maybe even the ducks) didn't really put out their best moves.
Maybe they want to keep a little something for the regular season?

It was great to have hockey back. Too bad there were so many empty seats in the lower bowl of the arena. I can guess which seats belong to corporations and not real fans like us.

Man, the whole first period was a penalty kill situation for us. Then the second period was a makeup for the Kings and we got all the power plays.

Removing the centerline is gonna make for some really exciting breakaways this season.

One thing that was pretty cool to see was when an icing was going to be called, the defending team would go for a quick line change before the whistle was blown. The refs didn't always let the players who came on the ice stay on the ice (cuz the whistle blew before they got on). Not letting the defending team change up after icing the puck is a very cool rule that I like lots!!!

Personally, one thing I didn't like (from a fan at the game point of view) is that I can't see the goal line from my seat. Before the goal was moved back a couple of feet, I could easily see the goal line.

Well, I'm glad that hockey's back in town and I don't think I'll be missing many games this year.

Anyone else worried about Garon getting pulled? Was that due more to poor play or was it just to rest him and get Hauser some action?

Yeah, when I scout you have to meet my criteria.. And he certainly fits that part.

No... But I think he's a good offensive defenseman. Good hard shot, he can move the puck.. The only thing that irritates me about him (and some of our other defenseman) is they don't really move up ice. They kinda just coast when they're on the PP. I guess they are just waiting for the play to develop?

He's got a hard shot, but he needs to hit the net. His accuracy has always been off.
