Kings-Dux Rookie Game

Talked to John between games. 5-4 Kings in OT. Taylor in net all game. Taylor looked good and most of the goals were not his fault. Kopitar is a "man-child" and looked great. Mormina is big and can really play. Petiot was awesome (as usual).

Legault got smacked around by former Kings draftee/prospect Trevor Gillies.

Anyone with an unofficial boxscore?

The game in the other thread was not the rookie game.

Tukonen scored a beauty for the Kings second goal, cutting into the middle and sniping it top shelf. Werner scored the Kings fourth goal.

Clarke and Kopitar scored in the shootout to give the Kings the win.

Kopitar was good when I saw him but he looked very slow in the 3rd. I don't think he's used to playing the minutes that he saw in this game so he looked like he had very little left. Still could make plays but he may need some more stamina.

After the Kings/duck pre-season opener there was another Kings/ducks game but it was for the rookies.

I wasn't focused on the Kings players but heres what I noticed:

Kopitar looks like a talent, he made things happen every shift, scored a nice goal. Sometimes tried to do too much on his own.

Tukonen had an okay game, he had a very nice top shelf goal.

Tambellini has good speed but otherwise I didn't notice much from him.

I thought that Kopitar wasnt spectacular...though he seems like he has such command of the ice...

On a particular goal, it was Kopitars forecheck that forced a turnover in the Ducks zone. He then centered a pass to Clarke who buried it.

One of the more impressive players was Ducks rookie, Glenncross. The guy was in on every play, hitting anything that he could and a real factor in the game.

Mormina will now be refered to as "lurch".

nice of JR to come out and sign some autographs....DT was constantly wandering aroung the section as well....I also had several awkward moments with Fukufugi where we would make eye-contact and he would just keep staring...from the moment i entered the seating area, till when he left half-way through the game, we just kept having very awkward moments
