I don't even know what the dispute is all about. I'm assuming it has to do with money because, lets face it, when isn't it about money?

Is it really that bad? The CBC broadcasting crew could use a face lift. With the exception of Hrudey, Hughson and Cherry I could care less if I ever hear Harry Neale, Greg Millen or any of the other Leaf loving announcers again.

I recall several years ago there was some kind of labour dispute at the CBC involving their on-air talent, rather than their technical crews. They broadcast a few games without any play-by-play or commentary and it was nice.

Without Chris Cuthbert, who cares if there is HNIC, unless Martine Gailard(sp) does play by play and Deb Matejcika the color comentary.

I hate doing that, just because of the delay. It is really annoying seeing a player on a breakaway and before he even takes a shot you hear "HE SCOOOOORES!!". Why couldn't Sportsnet strike some sort of deal with CHED and have Rod doing the games on tv too?

problem for me is, if the CBC isn't back by oct 5, they might not be able to do the double header, which means they'd cut the oilers games....

i dont have a problem with the lack of commentary, i kinda like it actually. but i do have a problem with not seeing the oilers games.

Ya if I could take my old Telus 3 Watt bagphone and jam up the broad thats causing the strike at the CBC I happily affect that personal communication!

Executives who give themselves a big raise then piss-on their rank & file employees make me puke. C an't B e C reative that's what CBC stands for. The moment I can ditch Telus as any kind of a provider won't come to soon niether!

Big T talks turkey with the dressing down. Come thanksgiving if the Oilers aren't riding high in the standing MacT had better start shopping his resume too.

Cheers and lets tan some texan hide tonight boys!

Trust me.. that was my happiest day ever.. ditching Telus and Shaw Cable for that matter. In downtown Vancouver there's Novus Internet (much faster - and cheaper - than Shaw) as well as voice over IP telephone service (Digital Voice) where you get local and unlimited long distance for Canada & the US for $40.
