Definitely possible considering he just turned 19 a couple days ago.

That's just crazy. Every defenseman in the league just **** their pants when they read that.

In the second pic he looks more than an inch taller than Crosby. And he's barefoot in that pic while Crosby is wearing shoes.

I can't wait to watch this kid. Looks like he put on a good 15 lbs or so.

Avs site lists him at 195, 13 up from last year - who knows how accurate either of those numbers are though.

That was probably his weight last year but for some reason they didn't update it until recently. Dater asked him during training camp last year if he needs to add weight to be NHL ready and he said no because he was already close to 200 lbs. Avs site still listed him in the low 180's though.

Makes sense. Still looks a lot bigger than last year. Maybe 205-10lbs.

The Avs hit absolute gold on all their lottery picks. No knock on Seth Jones, but I can't imagine the feeling right now if we were arguing about the ways Jones needs to develop, while it looked like Florida had the next Stamkos.

they changed a couple of them. landeskog was bumped up from 204 to 210 and still 6'1 but I think he's 6'2 220ish

Both Landy and Mack seem like freaks of nature physically, albeit in slightly different ways. Mack has that rare power and speed combo, while Landy is just pure power. They just both seem like Greek god physical specimens, the way Bo Jackson was back in the day.

Poor Matty looks so scrawny in comparison, and he's bulked up considerably since his rookie year. Even O'Reily looks like a damn tree trunk and seems to have grown over 6 feet.

You can't compare rookie seasons to determine who is better. MacK's rookie season represents how good he currently is because that season just happened. Duchene is years removed from his rookie season and has progressed and gotten better since then though. With Duchene you have to look at all his seasons, particularly this past one since that is the best representation of the here and now.

You can't use predicted success to determine who is better now. What is expected to happen, has not happened.
Well only last season Duchene came close to PPG level, and in his 5th year, MacKinnon should surpass that and then some.

If it takes Mac to get to PPG 5 years, you can call that disappointment. MacKinnon has more tools(offensive) than Duchene, and he should be a PPG player this season or in his 3rd year.

So does he bulk up over the summer and then cut back down during the season or what?

He'll have insane speed for sure, holy moly, hockey can't come quicker.

Duchene -ppg
MacK- not a point per game

Progress is irrelevant. How long it took Duchene to reach a ppg is irrelevant. There is absolutely no way anyone can claim MacK is already better than Duchene.

Duchene is the better player currently. MacK very well could be the best as soon as this coming up season. But predictions are also completely irrelevant in the discussion of who is the best as of right now.

Players usually lose a bit of weight during season. Not all the weight they add in the summer is lean muscle and it's hard to train in a way that keeps all the bulk they've added during the season.

He might be big, but soft as butter. He's more like big giraffe.

I saw Myers plenty watching team Canada in the WC, that's exactly how I would describe him, like an awkward giraffe. Still a big kid though.

Indeed and that was pretty impressive. That was when Svatos was a tenacious SOB before his shoulders blew up.
