This is indeed sad news. With doctor's prognosis, it seemed very hopeful that Snyder would pull through this. Then again, brain injuries are often very hard to predict outcomes. Condolences to the family.

A few minutes ago I refreshed my browser to see what's up on the boards. It blew me away when I saw the topic. I would have thought that this would never happen. Now I don't know if I can sleep well for the rest of the night. A few days ago I called the Chicago Wolves regarding some admission vouchers, and just before I got off the phone I asked where can I send a get well card for Dan (Knowing that he used to play for them). Now I'm glad I didn't send off that card right away knowing that if his family would receive the card by now that could possibly devastate them even more. Now I don't know if I should send a sympathy card or not. This goes to show that no one should ever take their life for granted. One day you could be fine, then the next day something bad could happen to you, and then you're gone. I really hope the best of luck and survival for his family and relatives.

Of course he'll play again,he's a young man and time heals...but it'll take a long time to get his heart into it.It's not like this sort of tragity hasn't happened before.

My prayers and thoughts go to the Snyder family and to his friends and teammates....truly tragic.

Man... 25... Way too young to die. Life's a *****. It'll be a difficult time for Snyder's family. Hope they can pull through. I've seen happen a similar tragedy in my family a few years ago and this is the worst thing... My thoughts go to them tonight.

Just horrible, terrible and sad news for everyone involved. It's always a tragedy when a young person dies before their time. RIP Dan.

Saw it on ESPNEWS bottomline.. Amidst all the baseball and football euphoria.. One of those things that hit you deep in a spontaneous manner... Just awful.

I feel bad for both the family of Snyder and Dany Heatley. The guilt on him must be unbearable. I'm wondering how this will affect his playing, when he gets back?

Rest In Peace, Dan....
