"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Dan Snyder. Dan was a teammate, a friend to all of us. We feel a tremendous amount of pain as an organization and extend our deepest sympathies to his family."
The Thrashers website has now been updated, including a link to the message board there where you can post a message of sympathy for Dan Snyders family.(of course the message board is down right now but feel free to try later)
I am extremely shocked to hear it. and even more sad. My condolences go out to everyone involved in snyder's life, including family, friends, teammates.
I also offer my forgiveness, whatever it means, to dany heatley. Not because he is a star hockey player but a human being, and mistakes must be forgiven. Not in the legal system though. He will be charged now with manslaughter likely and his career may never fully materialize.
"Dan Snyder was committed to his family, to his profession, to his team and to his community, and the news of his passing fills all of us with an overwhelming sense of sorrow. The NHL extends its deepest sympathies to his parents who have lost a cherished son, to siblings who have lost a loving brother and to players who have lost a devoted teammate. Our prayers go out to his entire family."
Cant believe I saw this when I came home. I thought no news on him was good and everything was going fine. This just plain sucks as everyone is getting pumped for the season and a tradgedy like this happens. 25 years old and a whole life to live. At least he got to live his dream of playing in the NHL. I'm still shocked, condolances to the Snyder family. It is his fault and Dany Heatley has to feel like hes the worst person on earth right now. Such a shame for the young hockey club and the young mans life.
To the family, friends and fans of Daniel Snyder, my deepest condolences go out to all of you. It is never easy to get over the lost of a loved one. I've lost two close friends this past summer in high-speed automobile accidents. It's the worst feeling in the world. I really loved and admired Snyder's style of play. After witnessing him manhandle Eric Lindros two years ago, I kept a close eye on this kid and hoped he would be able to make it big. It's a sad day for hockey and I don't think things will ever be the same in Atlanta. It's a shame..so much to look forward to and now things will change dearly.
To Dany Heatley, my condolences go out to you and your family as well. Life is simply too short to take for granted. Although you had no intent of fatally injuring your friend and teammate, he was your responsibility and you will have to pay the consequences unfortunately. We're all pulling for you in the hockey world. You are a great young man and an idol to many. Do your time, try and get your head straight and then come back and continue your career when it's time. Get well soon, bud.
This is so horrific..........I like many others had assumed he was stable
and was at least going to survive?? Indeed, my prayers and thoughts are with the Snyder family and yes, with D.Heatley and his family also......What an absolute horrible tragedy!!!
