First Chance To Impress

Anyone know about Dan Cavanaugh?? "I liked the direction this whole organization is going, and being close to home made it exciting for me," said Cavanaugh, on a professional tryout agreement. "There's a lot of opportunities for young guys here. They didn't guarantee me anything. I'll just work as hard as I can and hopefully the pieces will fall into place."

"Dan's a hard-working, grinding-type forward," Schoenfeld said. "For him to have an impact here, we'd like to see him be a point producer.

Guess the Rangers want to have the most hard working grinding type in the league.

Pack Notes

Center Dwight Helminen, who played 41 games with the Pack last season, sustained a cut over his nose during the scrimmage that required eight stitches. ... Schoenfeld said forwards Colby Genoway, who played four games for the Pack last year, and Daniel Sparre, who had 68 points in 62 games at Halifax in the Quebec Junior League last season, had good camps in New York. Genoway had a goal in the scrimmage Tuesday. ... Schoenfeld said he liked the play of defenseman tryout Jake Ortmeyer. Ortmeyer is the older brother of Jed Ortmeyer, who played for the Pack last season and is currently with the Rangers.

I wonder where Genoway and Sparre will fit with this team if both get signed.
