So, once again, who are the captains?

Well, at the BvsW game I believe that we saw Konowalchuk, Blake, Hinote and Briebois wearing the "A"'s (Two for each side) which makes me wonder who will wear them this year...once again.

I still think that we'll see

C-Joe Sakic (duh )
A-Rob Blake
A-Steve Konowalchuk
A-Dan Hinote

Hinote and Kono will either alternate, or they will go with 4 captains during games, who knows, but I think that those players will get the letters on their respective jerseys.

I'd put an A on Turgeon over Hinote

What about Tanguay? I'd give him more of a leadership role this year.

Tanguay
Hinote
Blake
Kono

The problem I would have with Turgeon is that he hasn't been with the team long enough. I don't know the protocol, but leader or not, I'd like some TEAM experience as a qualifier for captain status.

That's just me though.

C - Joe Sakic

A - Rob Blake
A - Steve Konowalchuk

--

A - Milan Hejduk
A - Dan Hinote

Hejduk is the first alternate assistant if one of Blake or Konowalchuk are not playing, and Hinote is the second alternate assistant.

Looks like a good list. You want your Captain and Alternates to be veterans that treat the officials with respect and in turn have the officials respect to have productive conversations with the officials when there is a dispute or clarification needed.

Do they ever change calls? No, but being a diplomat for a C and A's is an underappreciated artform.

I don't get it, Isn't it May who caused the whole altercation that lead up to the Bertuzzi / Moore incident.
That's too much respect being shown for a guy who lacks class, and his entire game is that of a goon. We had him here in Phoenix a few years back and you will come to find that he really isn't the prototypical Lacroix protoge type of a signing.

What in the world have you been watching? Firstly, May was not the main cause of the altercation. His comment came during the heat of the moment, and was blown way out of proportion. Secondly, for the majority of the time, he doesn't lack class. Thirdly, his game is nothing like "a goon" (Brashear, Worrell, Peters, Shelley, etc.).

May is a gritty 4th line grinder who is very servicable to his team.

That being said, I don't believe May is a guy that warrants an "A" on his chest.

Shhh, it's more fun when people have no concept of sarcasm.

LOL, yea I was wondering what the thread might have developed into, if no one said anything. It might have taken on a life of it's own, with people arguing over a subject that started as a joke.

It would be nice to have Jeff Shantz back...I'd like to have thrown his hat into the ring as well.

Seriously,

I like Joe as a player, never thought of him as an outspoken guy, but have been critical of his silence in the media. But I think he deserves the C.

As for our Alternates...I like Hinote and Konowalchuk. Not necessarily in that order.
