I believe 23. 18 skaters, 2 goalies, 3 healthy scratches was the old structure......

OK, so I guess they're calling Norton a "defenseman"? LoL, whatever. So, the following 6 guys are competing for:

1) Who takes up the "healthy scratch" roster spot
2) Who fills in for Armstrong on opening night

Which 2 would you choose?

29 KOSTOPOULOS, Tom
39 CLARKE, Noah
49 FLINN, Ryan
53 GIULIANO, Jeff
57 PARROS, George
77 BELANGER, Ken

Norstrom, Miller, Visnovsky, Dempsey and Gleason are locks on defense. The last spot is up for grabs and I think it comes down to Corvo or Grebeshkov, with Weaver or Norton taking up the 7th D spot.

Up front, the top 3 lines are set with Roenick, Frolov, Cammalleri, Demitra, Conroy, Brown, Robitaille, Bure and Armstrong. The only question is whether or not Armstrong will be placed on IR or if he will be ready. IF Armstrong is still injured, Belanger will move up to center Robitaille and Bure and Avery will be the checking line center between Cowan and Kostopoulos.

The role of the enforcer comes down to K. Belanger, Parros, Flinn and Norton. We may see the Kings carrying two on the roster (Norton as the 7th dman and/or extra forward, and one of the other three as the heavyweight enforcer).

I see Noah Clarke making the team as healthy scratch, finding his way in the lineup every now and then. Tambellini or Roussin will take up his LW position in Manchester as both belong in a top six scoring role with the Monarchs.

I read a story in the Times that said the Kings left it up to him where he preferred to play, Manchester or Sweden. He chose Sweden, because it's closer to home. The kid just turned 18, so it's understandable and from the quotes I read, the Kings were fine with it.

I wouldn't pick Flinn, simply because he missed almost the entirety of last season. After that, I really couldn't tell 'ya. Although Clarke gets the sentimental vote!

Bernakevitch has been assigned to Manchester. Could this mean Kings have agreed on a contract with him or is he just an invitee to the Monarchs camp? They need to get that kid signed.

Real bummer that Fukufuji got injured and missed half of training camp, including his chance to play in a preseason game. Is there anything to be read into the fact that he was assigned to Manchester or is he likely just going to their camp before being shipped to the ECHL?

Good for Clarke and Giuliano. Not totally surprising, but mildly surprising that they made it past the 2nd cut. Congrats to them.
