I sure hope Fukufuji makes the Monarchs.

I would expect he and Brust will contend for the #2 job in Manchester with the loser going to Reading.

For those of you who have been to training camp, has Richard Petiot actually got a chance of making the roster?

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but with the new NHL rules I think Corvo will do fine. NHL defensemen have to be smart with the puck and fast enough to stay with players and not hold onto them for dear life. Corvo is quick enough.

For a 6th defenseman, Joe is not bad. As much as I'd like Grebeshkov to be the 6th guy (and he just might be), Corvo is not a bad 6th guy.

Sure, he's still in camp. Personally, I think he would be best served by at least a year in Manchester, but the team has a need for a big defenseman who can clear the front of the net, and maybe he's ready.

He's got a lot of fans on this board. I think they've had too much Al Murray kool-aid, but that's just me.

Grebeshkov sounded like he was over Manchester so if he doesnt make it the Kings have a situation. Weaver probably goes down, Corvo has to clear Waivers. Tough situation.

Even more complicated up front. Parros and Flinn can get sent down but have to pass through waivers if they get sent back down, right..? I gotta assume they pick the safe route and sign Ken Belanger.

I dont know how Norton fits into any of this with Corvo, Grebs, Petiot, and Weaver still in the mix, which sucks for Brad.

Drills and scrimmages are way different than game situations. I think the kid is going to be awesome. But a year in Manchester will do him some good. I think that Grebs should go back too, and hopefully find his second nut on the way back to Manchester. His offensive upside is there, but he shys away from contact, and he still needs to round out his game.

I think Corvo gets the nod for the number 6 spot, with Norton (signed) at the 7 spot. Or.............DT pulls the trigger to get rid of the logjam up front and brings us another defenseman. I'd rather do it sooner than later.

Yes and no. While it might certainly help on the defensive front, it would surely mean that we'd see Miller fulltime-and maybe Norstrom on the PP.

Way to go Noah!

Too bad about Anze not staying.

The Monarchs cuts are making for a pretty good looking team.

I hate to agree with him... you all know how I feel about Corvo, but he is meant for this style of play. We'll have to see... I'd love to see a guy like Petiot get rewarded at some point.

Good for Clarke and Giuliano. Not totally surprising, but mildly surprising that they made it past the 2nd cut. Congrats to them.
Maybe the next Donnally-Millen combo?
