this is taken fron LGK on the front page...

Adam Deadmarsh, one of the most popular Kings in recent history has decided to retire from the NHL according to The Star Tribune.

"I've been living on hope the last three years I'd be able to play again, but my body is just telling me it's not going to happen," Deadmarsh said to the Star Tribune.

one of my all time favorite hockey players.

Add Adam's name to the list of great ones that had to retire too soon.

I would love to see the Kings retire #28. Never has a player made such an impact on a team in such a short time.

Really unfortunate. He was a heck of a player but he was also on his way to becoming something great. Best of luck Deader.

Some players, from the moment you see them, have that aura of purpose, intensity, and dedication that make them winners. No matter what this guy does that will shine through his life. I wish him and everyone close to him sweetness and light. Adam you're going out, and going on, as a winner in my book.

Great read...........Totally bummed for the guy. He was a brilliant player! Good luck Deader!

Reading the article makes me want to smack CJ. That guy had no business being on our ice.

I agree 100%. If the Av's can retire Bourque's number after 2 years, the Kings can sure as hell retire Deader's number.

I agree. I think it would be great to see his jersey haging on the wall in Staples. He really made an impact on the play of the Kings and the perception of the Kings as a team.

That said, does anyone know how Deadmarsh is doing? Will he be back soon?

Bourque won a Cup with the Avs and is one of the top 2 or 3 defenseman in the hisotry of the game. Yes it was a joke but it is a huge difference.

Thirteen goals scored in 20 games. Man... what could have been...
If only half the team had the heart and grit of Deadmarsh. He is the type of player you want to lead your team. Hopefully he can be brought in as a scout like other former Kings (Jan Vopat, Mike Donnelly).

It is very unfortunate that players who go all out and put their body on the line have their careers cut short or are ravaged by injuries throughout their careers (Neely, Tocchet, Lindros, Deadmarsh).

I wouldn't really put Lindros in that same category- he just had a glass jaw, and was at the right height to get nailed right on it all the time. Also, Tocchet played for a LONG time...?
