Condolences to Curtis Brown and Family...

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff, general manager Darcy Regier and six players Daniel Briere, J.P. Dumont, Martin Biron, Rory Fitzpatrick, Jay McKee and Adam Mair flew to Chicago on Friday for the funeral of the 5-month-old daughter of Curtis Brown.

Brown was in the Sabres organization from April 1996, when he joined the Amerks for their run to the Calder Cup, until March 2004 when the Sabres traded him to San Jose. His daughter died suddenly earlier this week.

Also, Amerks assistant coach Doug Houda flew home to Alberta earlier this week for the funeral of his mother, who had been ill.

Terrible news. I hate to see anyone lose a young child like that regardless of their career. My condolences to Curtis Brown and his family. Glad to see that those Sabres players are supporting their friend during this extremely difficult time.

I hate hearing this stuff. I don't have any little ones yet, but it shakes the worlds of guys like Chain, Jim Bob, Knob and others who've mentioned their children when they hear horrible news like this. Condolences to Cubro and family.

Wow, that's awful

Aubri Brown was a victim of crib death Monday at the family's Chicago home. The team announced the tragedy Saturday, and Brown declined to immediately discuss the matter after going through practice at The Edge in Bensenville.

The Brown's have a strong Christian faith from what I have heard... I am sure that they are going to need it through this terrible event. Just awful.
