Official 2003-2004 season post-camp line projections

If you remember, I had a thread asking for pre-camp line projections. The thread is here: http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=7151

Now that the opening day roster is finalized, let's post where we think everyone should go. If you want to show off, you can also quote your pre camp projections like this:

Quote:
Elias-Gomez-Marshall
Friesen-Rupp-Langenbrunner
Pandolfo-Madden-Gionta
Brylin-Rasmussen-Stevenson

Stevens-Rafalski
White-Niedermayer
Brown-Martin

Brodeur
Schwab
When posting the new lines, here's what you have to work with:

Goaltenders:

Martin Brodeur
Corey Schwab

Defensemen:

Sean Brown
David Hale
Paul Martin
Scott Niedermayer
Brian Rafalski
Scott Stevens
Colin White

Forwards:

Christian Berglund
Sergei Brylin
Patrik Elias
Jeff Friesen
Brian Gionta
Scott Gomez
Jamie Langenbrunner
Igor Larionov
John Madden
Grant Marshall
Jay Pandolfo
Erik Rasmussen
Mike Rupp
Turner Stevenson [injured reserve]

Here are my projections:

Elias-Gomez-Berglund
Friesen-Larionov-Langenbrunner
Pandolfo-Madden-Gionta
Brylin-Rupp-Marshall

Stevens-Rafalski
Hale-Niedermayer
White-Martin

Brodeur
Schwab

Pandolfo--Madden--Gionta/Marshall
Berglund--Gomez/Rupp--Marshall/Gionta
Rasmussen, ???

Rafalski--Stevens
Niedermayer--Hale/Brown

I expect a lot of line juggling and the same goes for the defense pairings. Still a lot of experimenting to do!

I notice a lot of people put Gionta on Pando-Madden line, but I think he's too small to play all year on the checking line. Especially since Madden has said he'd like to concentrate on his defensive role. I think Berglund makes more sense.

What to do with Gionta is a bit puzzling, maybe he might work well with Larionov on the 4th line. Rasmussen could push Gionta out of line-up permanently if he doesn't start scoring some goals.

Larionov was very impressive in both Rangers games, but Burns will definitely have to limit his ice time. I don't see how he could survive playing on 1st or 2nd line. Great move by Lou though, Igor will breath life into the lifeless, bloated corpse-like power play.

Rupp will center one of the top lines and will Burns will beat the crap out of him all year to keep him motivated. I kind of feel sorry for him...

What I'd like to see -

Elias - Foster - V. Bure
Friesen - Gomez - Langenbrunner
Pandolfo - Madden - Berglund/Marshall
Rasmussen/Stevenson - Larionov - Gionta/Marshall

What will actually happen -

Elias - Gomez - Marshall
Freeze - Rupp/Larionov - Langs
Pando - Madden - Gionta
Rasmussen/Brylin - Rassmussen/Larionov/Rupp - Stevenson/Rupp/Brylin
