Besides, looking back at page 1, YOU also suggested Belanger...
No, if you read correctly, it says I think we could get Eric Belange for the _two_, meaning both of Bob Boughner and Dan Hinote. This doesn't clog the 3rd and 4th line spots moreso than they already are, and is also an upgrade.
Always have to mention Washington at a time like this.
I like trading with the Caps...we get guys like Andrei and Steve and give up stuff like Bates. Not bad moves...I'm just wondering what they have left that is good which we could also afford.
I still think it is best to let the season go on a bit. I think Boughner will be worth more when other teams realize their defensive shortcomings and the league starts allowing clutching, grabbing and stickwork to go uncalled. He is at an all-time low right now in value. Give the "New NHL" a chance to revert to the "Old NHL," which it will do, and then look to make a trade.

Lol. You're probably right.
Now I don't see the urgency for the Avs to mke a trade and get that quality third or 4th line center. MacLean is doing well, same with Hinote. And if needed, Laperriere and Kono can all play center, although I prefer them on the wings.
We'll be more than happy to have players like Boughner and Leschyshyn when we'll have some injured defensemen. On the other hand, Clark and Boychuck could be decent call-up.
Jeff Halpern would be a nice addition, but he's too important for the Caps, I can't see the Caps trading him for guys like Boughner and Hinote.
I would say Tampa Bay would definitely claim Boughner...not sure if they would trade for him...
They might claim him off of waivers but that's all...It wouldn't give us anything but cap-space. I think Boughner is worth a lot more. Especially after the NHL starts getting more lack on the obstruction penalties. Part of me hopes I'm wrong and they won't let up on the calling, but we've seen damn near ten years of them sayin' they mean it this time. I have to believe Bob will be a much larger commodity come spring-time.
