Actually Oshawa scored only 2 goals in the game. Staal assisted on 2 powerplay goals and was on the ice for both of Oshawa's even strength goals. He was -1.

Sauer continues to impress, tonight he broke his previous record of 2 goals last season (in 32 games) to get his 3rd goal of the season, also getting an assist as well in the 5-3 win. Sauer also isn't afraid to drop the gloves as he recieved a major for fighting in the game. Sauer now is 1st in the league among defenseman in goals with 3 (a lot have teams have also played an extra game or 2 then him) and 2nd in points.

Dubinsky picked up an assist as well to continue his point streak to 3.

Sauer did have a fight, but boy he'd better learn some moves from Garth Collins or some other tough guy type. His fightning skills are certainly lacking and it was a very one sided affair. That being said, just about everything else he did can be summed up in one word: solid. Soild defensively, solid when on the PP and PK (he was a major reason the Hawks killed off all seven penalties against them tonight).

Dubinsky should have had more points save for linemates missing open nets.

Damn, Marc Staal just had a huge first period getting 2 goals and an assist.

Now he is tied for 1st in the OHL for points among defensman. Jeeze our prospects are really dominating in the WHL and OHL this year so far

BTW he's playing is younger brother Jordan Staals team (he also got a goal in the 1st).

Marc-Andre Cliche looks GOOD. VERY good.

I kept on saying this since he was drafted how good he will be for us.

I cant believe I said this was going to happen and actually doubted myself. DONT BELIEVE THE PESSIMISTS!!!! Thats what happens when you actually see a prospect for yourself and can evaluate on grounded basis. Hooray for Staal-y.

yeah he has his teams only goal so far in the 1st period today

i'm pleasantly surprised with staal wracking up the points. i hope he's not sacrificing some defense to do it, but man...putting up good point totals this season would give his stock a big boost

Any news on Jarkko Immonen? I'm wondering if he will start the season with the Blue shirt? Possible or not?

Staal takes over with as 1st in the OHL in points among defensman. Looks like he wasn't kidding when he said he was going to work on the offensive part of his game. So much for the "stay at home" defensman tag he had.

ah, thanks fly

that website originally said the score was final and didn't have him listed with the second goal

btw, ryan russell has 2 assists so far tonight in kootenay's game

roman psurny also has an assist tonight for medicine hat, playing against dupont (who has no points in the game yet) and calgary

And that's why he was named OHL player of the week :

Kim Hirschovits and Hannu Pikkarainen played today when HIFK lost to JYP 2-1. Hirschovits was fairly invisible but managed to get one assist point. His stats 0+1=1, no penalties.

Pikkarainen on the other hand was the worst player of the game. His opening passes were horrible. The result was either icing or pass to opposing player. He was outplayed physically. This game was total horse manure from him. Don't know if this is his regular level of play but for the Rangers' sake I hope not. His stats: 0+0=0, -1, 2 minutes for tripping. Stupid penalty btw, on the neutral zone. JYP scored a PP goal during his penalty.

The reason why Staal is wearing the cage is because he lost a few teeth in a fight....

How about Dane Byers having 2 goals and 7 points in 7 games. He also has 17 PIM and is a +5
