I really like the Staal pick...

althought I've only seen him once, I thought he could've worked his way into this lineup. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the lineup next season if he continues this and improves his defensive play.

That one's a given, Fletch. I'm starting to believe the kid DOES have #1 D-man potential. So far, he's lifted his offensive game, and he's exhibited leadership qualities. And, my impression of him from watching his game in the pre-season against the IceHoles, was that he was a big aggressive kid with a lot of poise, skates well, has skills and, most importantly, has no fear. I can't wait to see how much he develops as the big fish in his little pond this year.

Callahan continues the strong start getting a goal (shorthanded) and an assist in the teams 5-2 win. He was the 2nd star of the game.

Took a page outta what icthelight did and I added HOT or COLD next to some players names. Don't forget this is based on there offense. Some players might not be putting up the points at the moment but are playing well defensively (Sauer for example with +8 on the top pairing) I will be adding NCAA players soon btw.

FLYline you have outdone yourself with the Hot and Cold trends. Thanks for the hard work that you have put into this thread, it is much appreciated.

Sounds great - where does one go to view this? (Sorry if it's posted earlier in the thread.)

Thanks, that was quite easy actually.

BrookRF I just put the Hot or Cold next to their names on the main post.

Very cool. What are your criteria for hot and cold designations?

I dont have a set system in place since all leagues have different levels of difficulty (NCAA if you get points in 3 outta 4 games ill probably consider that hot(then again also depending on if it was goals, primary assists or 2ndary)...but in the QMJHL if someone gets 3 points in 4 games I wont consider that hot since the league young and any player in that league drafted should be averaging a point a game). Most of the time it will go by 3 games game streaks but if a player dominates 2 games in a row i'll consider him hot...and if he doesn't do anything for 2 games in a row after being hot i'll leave him as not hot or cold(yet). Hope that made any sense.

Uh Oh....Dubinsky did something wrong....he and teammate Luke Shier were scratched tonight by the team for violating some team rule. No idea what it was.

Sauer picked up 3 assists in the teams loss.

If I had to guess, I'd probably say he was on the "Love Boat" with Fred Smoot and the rest of the Vikings.

Thanks to Whawks33 we have some more info on Dubinsky.

If this is for a game, a month or the season no one seems to know or be saying.

Shame he was stripped of his alternate captain position. Lets hope its only a 1 game suspension.

Staal continues to be tied in 1st in the OHL with points among defensemen with his goal today.

I think there may be a typo in the Byers update, FLY. Looks like you have him as a -2, which would be impossible in a 3-0 win.

Thanks for the continued good work.

Oops, I had the wrong score in there for some reason...they lost 4-3 in that game. Thanks for pointing that out.

I know it's only 1 game and that +/- is a very deceptive stat, but I'm alittle perturbed that Staal managed to be on the ice for 4 out of the 5 goals that sudbury let in. Just hope the impressive offensive stats he's putting up arn't coming at a cost of his defense.

but it is only one game, not enough to draw any conclusions from.

80% of his points have come on the PP(all 5 of his goals on the PP as well), so I doubt he is taking many chances while his team is even strengh. Tonight seemed to be his worst defensive game of the season but +- can be very deseptive(like you said), we dont know if the goalie was just giving up softies from the outside or not, or how his partner was playing. Staal has been evening out all season so im sure in a week or so it will be back even hopefully.

not to do with our prospects but an FYI.. Robbie Schremp has 28 points through the first 6 games, this includes 6 and 8 point games, he hasn't scored less then 3 points yet in any game this season

Yea, no idea why the oilers left him in the OHL, the guy is much much much to good for that league, hes a huge PP expert as well, 7 of his 11 goals came from the PP and a hefty amount of his assists came there as well.

Billy Ryan's off to a nice start, though I don't know why he's played only 6 out of 8 games. I'm disappointed NESN isn't televising any Maine games until January. I'll get to see Ken Roche play a couple of games later this month (vs. NH and Denver respectively).

It was the 1st two games he missed so maybe he was sick that weekend? No clue.
