Just luck. It took until about half way through the first period. The F5 trick never works for me, it takes too long for the window to reload. I just click on the link over and over until it starts buffering.

Sounds like the Avs are playing like crap. LA scores back to back goals in about a minute, Avery gets the second one. 3-1 now for the Kings.

Avs going on the PP.

It was never 3 to 1...it was 1 to 0 Avs, then 1 to 1, then 2 to 1 Avs then 2 to 2, now it is 3 to 2 Kings.

Sounds like Leschyshyn is having a bad game. He let Avery get away from him in front of the net, to score on a rebound shot, and then he just turned the puck over on a cross ice pass, that ended in a good scoring chance by Cammalleri.

Liles sounds like he's playing well though. Sounded like he made a nice pass to setup May on the first goal, and he just blocked two shots while on the 5on3 PK down two men, and the crowd cheered his effort after the puck was sent out of play. He has two assists so far.

Your right, I missed the first couple minutes of the first period and missed the goals.

Turgeon just scored a goal to tie it up. His first point as an Av. Came from a nice pass by Tanguay, and Turgeon made a tough angle shot near the goal line.

Boughner and Leschyshyn need to go NOW.

And this problem coughing up the puck at inopportune times is a really big concern. Both teams are getting penalties-a-plenty, so that doesn't worry me as much.

Liles is playing a game is he not? Blocking shots, jumping in on the play, manning the point on the power play--he's showing he's more than just a one-dimensional defender.

Avery convinced even Forsberg to drop the gloves in '03. Anything is possible with that pest on the ice.

Yeah that was funny ****, the first and only time Peter has ever dropped the gloves. I was 3 rows from the ice in the MGM Grand Arena and frankly it was quite funny. Forsberg for all his skill and style is no fighter. LOL

Avery is a classless clown...Won't even fight May or Lappy after running at Joe. Talk about being hypocritical.

That's true Dario, I had forgotten about that. You know you're a real piece of work, when you get Forsberg to drop the puck.

For those who can't listen, Avery tried to take a run at Sakic, and May grabs him. Lappy steps out on the ice, and they start yapping at each other.

Avery and Lappy get matching minors. Hopefully they settle their business when they step out of the box. They are yelling at each other right now from the penalty boxes. Fingers crossed...............................

What a coward. Doors opened and Avery turned his back to Lappy and skated away. Lappy even gave him a shove, and whack with his stick, and he didn't do nothing. What a hypocrite to be talking about guys being cowards because they don't back up their play on the ice, by dropping the gloves.

Surely you didn't expect any class out of Sean Avery.

This shouldn't surprise anybody.

Man, I expected the Avs to kinda "steamroll" the Kings tonight, only because even a Kings poster said that their starters tonight were not even close to the team they hope to ice come the start of the season. *Is that true?*

For me anyway, it's official, I full-on believe that Peter Budaj will nab the Back-up spot. He played against a Kings team that was pretty close to what they'll be icing come Oct. 5th, and he played better. If you read my post in the the "Interview with Vitaly Kolesnik" thread, you'll see me wanting everyone to just give him a chance before proclaiming Budaj the new back-up. Well tonight he had his chance, and this should have been an easier victory than Detroit, in my opinion. Vitaly, you did good, no doubt, but honestly, Peter has done better. At least we know that we actually gave both a fair shot (which is all I was wanting them to do in the first place).

***EDIT***
The game has officially gone into a Shootout. Looks like the Avs killed a penalty in OT. If this is how the PK is going to be working, then I think we'll seriously been in the top 5-10 PK's in the game. I guess the shootout matters now?

Why do we suck so bad in the shoot out? It didn't sound like our guys were saving their good moves for the regular season, like we previously thought. Both Tanguay's and Turgeon's (I think it was Turgeon) sounded pretty fancy, but they both missed. They need to work on this, because if we are fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the year, these shootout wins could be the difference between us making it or not.

I honestly don't think were gonna see many games go to a shootout. Maybe the avs are playing possum with this shootout thing. On a side note their PK has been superb.

It was Krog not Turgeon according to the radio. But they sometimes get stuff wrong.

I wasn't sure who it was, but I thought Haynes said it was Turgeon. You're probably right.

Well there won't be any more tie games, and the Avs had 13 last year. That's 13 extra points, and the league will be much closer this year, and the difference between 8th and 9th spot could be as little as 2 points, so the shootout wins could be very, very important, especially against Western Conference teams.

I agree, I think that the shoot out is going to be very important. I really would like to see more from our guys in this area. I am not going to panic or anything but we have 1 SO goal in however many tries.

*sigh* Still not gettin' it done on shootouts. Hit the side of the net!? *** was that!? Tanguay still has confidence shakier than a crack addict in a rubber room. Ah well, he showed this preseason that he meshes amazingly well with Konowalchuk on the penalty kill and should enjoy a great season. Might want to pick someone else for the shootouts during the regular season though...

Seriously, I'm not letting this go. We've got to figure out why we're coughing the puck up so much. Can't blame it on Skoula or Morris this time.

Turgeon seemed to have a decent game. Still a long ways to go for him.

Boughner and Leschyshyn...well, I've stated my piece on them.

Svatos sounded like he was involved heavily in the play, shooting at will and scrapping in the corners. Kono would once again be an ideal linemate to scoop up the rebounds Svatos's shots yield.

Did Wolski play? Didn't hear anything mentioned about him.

Doesn't sound like Kolesnik had a spectacular game, but he was still solid. If this is the last time we see him, I wish him well, he along with Wolski were the biggest surprises of training camp/preseason.
