MIN/MTL Trade Proposal...

TO MIN: Saku Koivu, Marcel Hossa
TO MON: Nick Schulz, Matt Foy, and a 2nd...

And yes, I know. I'm just getting sick of these one sided Montreal proposals!

No dice.

It would take A LOT more than that to get Koivu out of Montreal, I'd have to say.

It is a joke?

Koivu, our captain and a prospect who will make the team this for Nick Schultz and other craps?

I mean, Nick who?

The proposal is bad, no doubt, but Nich Schultz is much more of a "somebody" than hossa.

Hossa is still 23, like Schultz and he haves very great tools.

Hossa will play great with guys like Bonk and Bulis this year.

Hossa turns 24 in a few weeks and has played 59 NHL games.

Schultz is 23 and has played 206 NHL games.

If Schultz gets a "Nick who?" , what does Marcel get?

Did everyone not read his last line in the first post?

Oh, and Nick Schultz is definitely nice 'someone.' He's not as obscure as, say, Hossa.

Schultz scored 36 pts in 206 games, while Marcel Hossa put 19 pts in 59 games. I doubt Schultz would have played in the NHL at all if he had been drafted by a team like Montreal instead of Minnesota.

Schultz is also a stay at home defenseman, whereas Hossa's a forward...

Saku Koivu is my favourite player. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't trade him for any player in the world...

That aside, IF the Habs come up to the deadline out of a playoff spot and haven't had any success in negotiating a new contract for Koivu, then a deal like that looks pretty good, just on paper anyway, sentiments aside. We need a dman like Schultz for sure. A 2nd round pick is nice. Foy... probably doesn't have enough skill to make it in our lineup up front, but if he could be replaced by a comparable prospect on D, then we're talking.

A bust tag? IMO its gotta be hard being hossa. Alot of people expect him to be a player like his brother and hes just not at the same level as his brother. Could he be a servicable NHL player? Sure. maybe hes just a late bloomer.

No, nobody expects him to be Marian. Everybody expects him to put in a consistent effort and earn regular NHL ice time, which he is unable/unwilling to do.
