Who's the odd man out on offense?

When McKenzie comes back from his injury, we'll have 13 (14 if you consider Allison a forward) available. Which one is the odd man out?

Here's the candidates and some pros to them leaving.

Erat - He's inexperienced and didn't play great last year
Tootoo - Doesn't have experience.
Fiddler - Doesn't have the experience or the talent of most but was effective in the preseason.
Hall - Don't see him going but the Paper mentioned it so I thought I would throw it out there
McKenzie - Healthy or not, with Brookbank, he's not needed.

I chose Mckenzie purely because the coaching staff hasn't had as good a chance to see him as the rest of the players on the list. I would prefer to see Fiddler go, but he has obviously been impressing people.

I think McKenzie will be gradually worked back into the lineup. He will be the odd man out at first. After about 10 games, I think that Tootoo may show the best place for him to develop as a hockey player is the AHL this year. As opposed to getting less than 10 minutes of "agitating" ice time in the NHL, he gets 20 minutes of "key player" ice time in Milwaukee, where he can work on improving his skills more.

But then again, by the time that McKenzie is healed, we will likely have other forward injuries to deal with.

I think Fiddler is here for a while, because #1) He plays center, none of the others do, we need a center, and #2) He's your ideal 4th line-type player.

Fiddler. No question.

Erat-He's looked great. Everywhere on the ice.
Tootoo - Just look at his impact in preseason.
Fiddler - He's a hard worker but Murray can move over.
Hall - He's solid.
McKenzie - He'll stay before Brookbank. Number one, he's proven and has an NHL contract. Brookbank looked good vs St Louis but that's one game. He doesn't have NHL experience.

Fiddler at first but McKenzie will lose it by the end

Yep - Murray can always slide back to center the 4th line. Fiddler just doesn't distinguish himself enough to merit staying.

Erat - has played well and is one of the better passers on the team
Tootoo- no one else close to this guy on the team
Hall - one of our best, if not the best, goal scorer in the crease. Lots of PP time in his future.
McKenzie - legit NHL heavyweight.

Fiddler is a good playmaking center but we've already got Leggy, Arkhipov and Johnson that play the same game.

Well, you're wrong on 2 accounts. #1) I have seen him play as much as you, including the world juniors. #2) You're inferring that I don't think that Tootoo is good. I like Tooto plenty. I just think the best place for him right now is the AHL. He's going to have to learn how to pick his spots better. In addition, I think he could develop in a decent scorer at the NHL level. I think the best place for him to develop his fundamental skills is in the AHL, where he can get plenty of prime time ice time, while still playing aginst bigger, stronger, and professional competition that he's not used to.
