decent trade offer?

This guy in one of my leagues keeps low balling me for Samsonov. I told he's going to have to overpay, so I offered this:

Samsonov and Ozolinsh for Jovo and Drury

Is it that one sided?

Jovo has never cracked 50 points, although he should any year now. Drury has had 2 straight down years. I think he'll bounce back in Buffalo but by no means is he going to outscore Samsonov.

I realize that I win this deal, but I told him that if he wanted Samsonov, he was going to overpay.

He counter offered with Hatcher and Holmstrom, I declined.

I think that the only reason that you're getting the better deal is that out of the 4 players Ozolinsh is still a bit of a question mark. I wouldn't trust Ozolinsh that much myself, but maybe if Ozo starts off the season pretty good run that trade proposal by him again. You're still getting the better deal.

Like I said, Ozolinsh has averaged over 40 points per year that he's been healthy, how is that a question mark?

I like these opinions, keep'em coming.

Samsonov sadly had some injury problems and I heard that eventually Mike Knuble will line up with Joe and Glen again (maybe a B's fan could help here ). I also think that Drury will bounce back.

Finally, Jovo gives you a lot more than points.

I really like what you got.

I didn't do the deal.

He was offering me garbage for Samsonov, so I told him what it would take, I told him he was going to have to overpay and that Ozolinsh and Samsonov for Jovo and Drury was what I was looking for. Samsonov is still a 70 point player, if he's on the top line or not. He countered with Hatcher and Holmstrom, no thank you. Me, figuring that Samsonov's injury last year is scaring him, countered again with Samsonov and Ozolinsh for Drury and Pronger(since he had a similar injury as Sergei). He declined. As for Drury, I believe he will bounce back as well, but I still don't think he'll outscore Samsonov.

Although it's a moot point right now... I think it's one-sided as, rumour has it, Samsonov won't be playing with Thornton to start the season. Jovanovski should be considered as a top-five offensive defenseman. Ozo is, as another person stated, a question mark. In that deal, Jovo/Drury is the clearcut winner.
