Smyth may not play opener.

Damn that Bryan Allen. Sportsnet reported on their early sports that Smyth is not a certainty to play the opener. Craptastic!

No Smyth and Comrie. That's not good. Atleast we still have Ferguson

Maybe they can try Ferguson at centre?

A big center. Ferguson is exactly what we are looking for.

Hmmmm. Ryan told me flat out that he'd play. That was Saturday night.

1) Either he's tweaked it
2) or he mislead me.
3) Or Sportsnet is wrong.

I hope it's #3.

For the last time, Stoll is also a centre and still up here.

TSN said he wasn't playing. I don't buy it. When the puck drops and he's not taking the draw, then I believe it.

I'll second that Ex-Stoll-ment at the pivot. X in Stoll and rest Ryan if as Bush #1 would say, "it is the prudent thing to do." But in wouldn't make me happy about it either. Calgary needs to be handled in a more forcefull manner. Sportsnet personalties aren't one tenth as out to lunch as the whizzes at the Toronto Sports Nitwits, but that Sportsline CBS article by Wes Goldstein proves any dullard can call themselves a sportswriter.

It's a long season. If he needs to rest his fractured finger for another few days, great. I'd rather he was out for a game or two than risk doing more damage.

That sure does suck, but I can deal with a missed game or two now that a 2 week leave. I hope it's more of a precautionary thing though.
