What happened to Perezhogin?

Haven't been following training camp too closely, but it seems all summer Perez seemed to be the go-to guy for the habs this year. He was going to lead the whole youth injection program. And yet (from what i can tell) his presence was mostly unnoticed. Anybody know what happened?

He did do decent in camp and his presence was definately noticed. His offensive skills are excellent, probably one of the most skilled guys we have. It's just that it was very obvious right from the start that he needed time to adjust to the NA style of play, and this is why we never talked a whole lot about him.

IMO he'll spend the whole year in the A this year, and hopefully make the team next. Every indication so far is that he will be a top 6 forward on this team in a couple of years.

That sums up pretty well my thoughts. He does have the NHL level offensive skills, but still needs to improve some aspects of his game, and the management felt the best way for him to work on those aspects is by sending him in the AHL for a while.

It would have been nice to have him in the NHL only to make up a good opinion on him based on performances against true NHLers, but on the other hand, there's no doubt in my mind his journey in Hamilton will pay off, and make him a better overall player.
