Oct. 9th: Sharks @ Oilers

The new seaosn starts TOMORROW! It's been a long off-season for the Oil and the look of the team doesn't look radically different, but the changes are subtle, most notably the absence of skilled centre Mike Comrie. Salo looks better than he has in a couple years and this team is confident.

My prediction:

3-1 Oil

Smyth scores first goal of season
Reasoner
Isbister

You might as well ask who's your favorite team on this board

this poll will be rather bias.....

Isn't it two days? today is the 7th and the game is on the 9th. And Marleau will score the first goal on his new team the Oilers and lead us to victory(yep I'm dreaming).

I'll say 3 -1 as well...

Edmonton:

Reasoner, Smyth, Brewer

SJ:

Koroyluk (might have butchered the spelling here)

I thought the regular season started on Wednesday for some of the other teams? I know our first game is on Thursday.

We're thinking alike today. Salo's first is on the PK. The other on a penalty shot.

i put win in the poll, but only because there was no option to tie.

i think the oilers will tie 3-3.

Dvorak, Hemsky and Pisani with the goals.

Tommy gets the Shutout as Grant looks on. Chimera chips in the 1st, Smytty scores on the PP. Tommy pops an empty-netter 3 - 0.

Leftover from the playoffs. I haven't gotten around to change it. It's a nickname for Skyreach during the Dallas playoffs.

Hey now. Like the picture says. Beware the dragan. It's only going to take like 3 years for him to come over to North America. Hemsky's not going to be the only babyface around here.

Think of the name Dragan... and think of this past year's draft. You'll find him.

am I the only one who thinks dragon looks like a young modano?

If anyone seen a picture of Mike in Prince ALbert, they could be twins.

15-0 Edmonton.

Hat Tricks by Hemsky, York, Smyth, Fergusson, COMRIE

Seriously, i honestly think the Oilers will win along the lines of 4-3 or 3-2.
Goals by Sturm and McLaren for the Sharks, and goals by Reasoner, Brewer, and Isbister for Edmonton.

Yeah, I think there were some comparisons floating around but the "great board fire of 2003" got them.
