What would you give for Souray

I know it might be a bit early, but I absolutly hate Sheldon Souray. He makes too many mistakes and looks lost out there, he's making me sick. We've got Mark Streit waiting in the press box while this guy struggles on the ice while making too much money. Let's give Streit a chance and trade Souray while he still has some value.

Shoot your offers.

your selling points are not exactly good.

summary:
-overpaid
-makes mistakes on his own end
-his own fans hate him
-an 8th rounder is better

with arguements like that we should pay another team to take him off our hands

I think the problem with Souray is that he really believe he is an elite defenseman.. so he does try to show his offensive skills.. making long pass, making moves he cant even do... he should keep his game simple and he will be a star. Position well, take a clean safe hit, dont overzoodle the puck on the pp, pass it or one-timer it.. thats all.

You're not too brilliant yourself.

How much is Souray making these days? Detroit has lost an offensive d-man for most of the season in Kronwall and Souray has one hell of a cannon.

I've never liked Souray. Too many penalties and bad defensively. I was watching the Montreal/NY game last night and he was playing terrible.

If I was an NHL player, Montreal is the last place I'd ever want to play I think. I swear, they like about three players on their team each year. One bad game and you are ****ed for the season. Unless your name is Alex Kovalev, of course... or you are a European prospect.

Yes because the people who want to trade Souray after 2 games are representative of all Montréal fans, if you actually believe that you need more help than the guy who started this thread.

Well thank god the one who started this thread isnt montreal's GM. Really, 2 bad games and people want to play Streit over him? Get a grip guys. When Souray on the ice, clearly his job is to clear the front of the net for Theo, not chase after the puck. He's a beast when in park mode, and ditto for his slapshot, but I agree he needs to improve much more in other aspects of his game. That being said he's still about a hundred times more useful than Streit.

He also excels at trash talking the other team, Streit just speaks broken english.

A fair majority of Montreal fans come here and propose trades for half the team. Not all of them, but I'm speaking about a majority, or at least a lot more than other teams.

It's not a majority at all, and it's not more than other teams. There is a LOT of Habs fans on this board so of course you will see a lot of habs posters post stupid threads, but I'm sure the ratio % of stupid fans is about the same in all the teams in the NHL.

10% of stupid fans out of 1000 will make more noise than 10% stupid fans out of 100 fans.

I think "majority" is really pushing it. A lot more than other teams, I have no issues with (a quick look at the thread volume and post count on the Habs Board should explain this unfortunate phenomena). Besides, there are posters from every board that plug guys into trades like they're playing EA Sports NHL 200X.

I note that this particular poster didn't post a similar thread on the Canadiens board and I suspect it's because he would have been peeled like a banana had he done so.

He's not overpaid.
He makes mistakes, but unless your name is Lidstrom, who doesn't?
His fans don't hate him
He's not available

Its mostly always the usual suspects (but this poster.. o boy I've been reading the board since forever and this is not something unexpected). At least if he made a decent attempt like offering Souray for someone else, but I feel that post was just a dumb excuse for a rant.
