I watched it again. Some parts a couple times. And man was this team lucky MTL couldn't get things together. But, MTl's also lucky that the refs were on their side that night. The first Poti penalty was pretty weak, but the message is, keep your stick on the ice at all times. The interference was a stick to the chest. His other penalty was wacky - whacking the stick out of a Canadien's hand. He didn't even hit him hard, so it was weird. The Kaspar call was weak too, and the Hollweg charge was questionable.
But some other observations: Poti's partner Strudwick struggles. On a goal against, Poti made the play by knocking the puck out of the air - Strudwick mishandles the puck for the giveaway - and a goal. There were numerous occasions in which Strudwick mishandled the puck. He's just not very strong.
Lundmark was pretty weak too. Tried to cycle, after Hossa got things going a bit, but one hit and Jamie hit the ice.
The PP needs to change a bit. Poti needs to be on a second unit - perhaps with Kaspar, and they can't keep coming out with 20-30 seconds left. Jagr's unit's out there too much, and they don't use Poti at all, because they look for each other. It needs to change a bit.
Kaspar/Tyutin seems to be the best pair out there. Kaspar's playing solid hockey.
I'll get flamed for this, but Poti didn't play poorly. He had one bad shift, which didn't result in anything negative, and he had two penalties, one was pretty soft. He actually got involved in his end, but Strudwick struggled a bit back there. He should be out there playing with Jagr, and he should be paired with Rozsival. Just my opinion, I know it's a minority opinion.
