The contract is worth $6.5 million the first year, then $5 million, $5.5 million, $7.5 million and $7.5 million in the final year. Average of 6.4 mil/year.

He got more money...

not what he was asking for, and not what he was being offered either. I don't know what the total is, but it's probably around $2 million more in total - I think I'd hang out at home with friends and family to get an extra $2 million too.

This was not very close to the $7.8 million (who was it, Brooks who suggested that?). I don't know if there will be players making the max in this league. It really screws with the economics of making a team.
