Today's the real opening day

Playing a real team at 4; we'll get the real first impression of how the '05 Wings stack up.

I wonder if Zetterberg is still bothered by that hip injury. He's had a few moments in the first two games where he had the chance to get in behind the defense but just couldn't gain that extra step he needed.

How come there is no GDT?

By the way, the Wings look good. Shanahan especially

Calgary is taking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many penalties....3 PP goals in the first!!!!! They were shorthanded for over half a period. And Samuelsson is still producing

P.S. we need a designated GDT'er....

That's debateable, obviously Calgary wasn't built for the new NHL, where is the skill?

All the analysts were picking Calgary and San Jose in the west, so far neither has showed much. (I watched the beating Chicago layed on SJ a couple nights ago.)

Now Vancouver on the other hand, this should be a great test.

I totally agree this is the first real test of the season. However Vancouver has a weakness - Cloutier. Can the Wings get a 3rd goalie yanked in 4 games? We shall see.

Nick needs to let a couple neutral zone bombs fly in this game. Dan has looked very shaky on those since the 'Nucks' collapse in '02.
