GDT: Flyers at Leafs 10/11

Philadelphia Flyers (1-1-0) at Toronto Maple Leafs (0-1-2)
7:30 PM Comcast SportsNet

The Leafs are coming off a game in Ottawa on Monday, so they probably won't be 100%, but that's not the key; if they lose to Ottawa they'll probably be a tougher match than if they beat the Senators. Not that they'll be an easy game.

EDIT: The Senators edged out the Leafs in a shootout, 6-5.

After 18 months, the SOB and bWo face off yet again.

I was trying to find an appropriate motivational quote for this game, something riveting and inspiring that put everything in place and fired you up. I used the opening to Patton for the Devils game, so the karma is flowing from that. But I couldn't think of one that was right. Then it dawned on me, because this is the Leafs they're playing.

Lets see how Lindros will lead his team, now with Sundin out...

Always a treat to play the Leafs. They play the Sens tonight and us tomorrow night. Wonderful!

LEt's see how many penalties Bundy takes in this one.
Flyers should take this one in a cakewalk, without Sundin in the lineup (which i have in my pool) Arghh!

Flyers 4
Leafs 1

Very rarely is it a cakewalk regardless who is out when we play the leafs, will be a physical game, few injuries possibly and a Flyers win though.

The Leafs haven't looked too good so far, but that doesn't mean they'll be a push-over by any stretch. Games against the Leafs always seem to be entertaining, though.

Well, interestingly enough it seems Eric Lindros has been their best player, at least according to Leafs fans. If he plays like they say he is, physical and dominant with the puck, this should be a fun game to watch.

For those of us in Canada without Centre Ice, this is our first look at the 2005-2006 Flyers. The game is on TSN.

Yea the game was Leafs region only. The Senators got the game on Sportsnet in the Sens region only.

I guess the rest of the country/US had to be watching on NHL Centre Ice.

Finally get to see a Flyers game as it happens. I was at the Boston-Habs game opening night, then on the road for the NJ game.

Toronto's offense looks effective so far, but they can't stop anyone. Should be an interesting game.

Eddie seems to be in a little funk right now. He must not be ready with the new equipment yet. If you see the highlights of tonights game you'll know what I'm talking about.

The Leafs ****** defence doesn't help either.

Bundy isn't playing tommorrow night, Wade Skolney is up in his place who I think is worse than Bundy. Oh well. Flyers article about the game:

Names Different, Jerseys the Same

Quote:
“Any time that Philadelphia and Toronto [play], it’s a great rivalry,” said Ken Hitchcock. “I think you have to play some hockey and go into each team’s building to understand the rivalry. We’ve got half of our club that doesn’t even know.”

Flyers
